Jack German passed away this past week.  For a long time Jack German was a fixture on the Mc Laughlin group- - along with Robert Novak, Pat, and Eleanor- - and Novak hasn’t been there in ages either.   One of them predicted that the US Justice Dept would NOT bring civil rights violation charges against George Zimmerman, and I must reluctantly concur with this declaration that they will not.  It just isn’t in Obama’s nature to do anything the Black or minority communities really want him to do or to make any sort of “statement’, not with words, but with his actions.  It will be of course just another in the long string of betrayals the liberals have suffered from this president’s decisions, or the lack of them.  Mort Zuckerman predicts that quantitative easing will be kept up because this economy still needs all the help it can get.   I would only hope that Larry Summers will NOT be the one to succeed Vernanke.  John Mc Laughlin predicted that there would be the birth of a male panda bear in a leading national zoo, bringing China and the US closer together.  Pat Buchannon weighed in on the mandatory ten year sentences for even minor drug offences in the Federal prison system.  I don’t think Jack Junior would want to end up there.  Pat mentions that many druggies commit crimes every day of their lives in efforts to secure drugs.  While I would love to say there would be no increase in either drug selling or crime if this “surplus 40%” were to be released, I can’t claim that.  I don’t know.  I don’t think anybody is just saying to let these drug addicts go back out on the streets to continue as they were before they were arrested.  Why not put them in a re-hab facility- - that may be a lower security building where perhaps the Federal Government can save a few Billion dollars on Max Sec Prisons.

The concencus among the Mc Laughlin group is that the Obama Administration should not suspend foreign aid to Egypt because we need that leverage.  If we withhold funding from Egypt all it will do is make Egypt less dependant on the US and as a result turn to Vladimir Putin.  Mort has pointed out that- - things could not have kept going the way they were with Morisee, and in my opinion, Morisee should never be allowed back in government in any capacity but in fact ought to be exiled to the Egyptian equivalent of Devil’s Island for life.  Because as it was pointed out- - all the Generals in the Egyptian Army don’t want to end up as refrigerated corpses on some slab in a morgue.  This is what happen with Iran, and anybody would have to have their heads examined if they want a repeat of the sort of fundamentalist Islamic revolution that took place in Iran in 1979.  As far back as 1977 I in my own writings was predicting some sort of violent revolution Iran that would not turn out good, and I turned out to be correct.  Pat Buchannon says that the President “has really bungled” this whole operation.  I dispute of his use of the present perfect tense as though the president is STILL blowing it.  I will admit the President exercised a severe lack of judgement in embracing Morisee when he can to power in early 2011 as strongly as he did.  Knowingly or not he played right into the hands of those on the right who claim that he was a closet Islamist anyhow.  As to the banning of the Moslem Brotherhood as a political party, I don’t see how the Army has any choice because it’s quite clear that the Islamic Brotherhood does not want to “play nice” with the rest of the kiddies on the election ballot.  At this point this is one area where I believe the President is doing basically the right thing.  The trouble with President Obama is that too often he has two feet on two different blocks of ice moving the opposite direction.  The President gives the impression that “He’s not convinced himself, yet” and this is not a good place for a President of the United States to be.

As is my custom this time of week I caught the Chris Matthews show, and Chris wasn’t on either Thursday’s first segment, which I watched, or Friday’s whole segment.  There really isn’t anything to report because nothing is happening.  As regards to that Missouri State Fair rodeo- - John Fugelsang doesn’t like the way animals are treated at rodeos anyhow.  But I’d rather see an animal being treated like an animal than a human being, particularly the President of the United States being treated like an animal.  This is why I was so disgusted with Fugelsang yesterday.  The guy who shot the video we saw filmed it just to provide documentation that that stuff actually was going on.  Clearly the announcer and the crowd were into the whole thing.  The whole thing had the atmosphere of an old fashioned lynching.  You know darned well Presidents Clinton or Carter would not be disrespected like that.  But Glen Beck referred to the whole exhibition as “artistry- that deserves protection by the first amendment” or something.  Nobody is talking about whether something is legal or not.  It’s just a question of good taste and public decency and how people choose to define themselves.  Stuff like that used to matter in this country.

In the morning it was KNX radio and President Obama gave a better speech than usual on the Affordable Care Act saying cleaverly “They think they are blocking the plan to get back at me, but they are only hurting themselves”.  But the republican response just talked about all the glitches in Obama Care and how we need to stop the thing before chaos ensues.   I feel a little like Justin on Days of our Lives.  This is an Attorney where everything is going on behind his back, and he's left out in the cold and somehow has to mount a defense of his client wearing a blindfold three quarters of the time.  I'm one of those millions of Americans who has never read the Affordable Care Act, or even a reasonable summary of the legislation.  I haven't plugged in all the math perameters or done the calculations so have basically no idea where the thing will work, as the liberals insist it will, or whether the plan will fall flat on its face, as the Conservatives maintain.

When it comes to all of this "Star Trek" stuff I'd like to consider doing an "unauthorized back-tracking".  As you know one thing I have maintained for thirty years is that no way no how is it possible to do this "time-warp" thing as they do in Star Trek.  I deemed it a mathematical non starter no matter how you looked at it.  This was a view I had based on the facts we all knew them at the time, which have changed lately.  I said "Obviously the make use of Hyperspace like they do in Star Wars (and the Asteroids game)  However more careful reading of Einstein's special theory of relativity has led me to the conclusion that hyperspace in this form that I and others "proposed" in fact does not exist.  And if it doesn't exist it can't be employed as a medium of travel.  Now we have left open the doorway of Astral Travel or psychic teleportation.  And we have also stated that Romulans can employ the Romulan cloaking device to cheat physics.  However "careful reading of Romulan material" once again- - it is not movement physics laws that are being cheated- - but what you might call the whole idea of off-linear planes- - or a form of matter that does not conform to any particular "template" and therefore kind of "cheats" ordenary space like a motorcyclist riding between the lanes.  We are then left with - - use of Avatars, which is something these people have admitted to employing.  But in fact- - if, to quote you out there reading this "If you're serious about standard fighting or transport vessles- - you're pretty much left with the time-warp solution if you can come up with a way for it to work".  Well, the discovery of the higgs bozon, which is a particle- - the gravaton- - the cosmic gravitational IUD if you will, - - makes the sort of "time-warp" envisioned by Star Trek mathematically and therefore at least theoretically feasable.  Recent information has received has talked more about "travel from star to star" being considerably more common place than I had been told about up to now.  Clearly the information I've been getting these past thirty years or so from Mal Evans has de emphasized Star to Star conventional travel- - perhaps to an excessive degree.  I just get the information and I pass it along.
