A Clear Choice for Voters in November

I've been reading up on the horrors of this "Enron loophole" bill that President Clinton signed in the year 2000 and let me just say that on the surface I don't see the problem, exactly. Comodities have always traded in future contracts as far as I know, and not present circumstances. They say the price of oil is now 40% too high, and how the price of oil has quintuppled in the eight years of the Bush Adminestration. There has to be more to it than that. What Enron did to us in California seems to have only tangental connection to this Clinton "loophole". That was just bad planning and poor business sense by Gray Davis. It would seem to me that the easiest thing to do to end this round of speculation is for the government tomorrow (or today) to say they are going to pick up where Jimmy Carter left off in 1979 and exaustively explore all alternative forms of energy. And if supplies are as high as people like Thom Hartman say they are then the price should collapse with nothing to sustain it and the ones most punished will be those who speculated the most heavily, just like in the real estate market. According th Hartman, apparently what the government has been doing is granting all sorts of lease or whatever contracts to oil companies to gain controle of the product, but then they refuse to pump the oil from the ground and prefer to sit on it. I would certainly to the extent possible bring anti trust actions against OPEC, and were I the government I would revoke these permits, if possible, and give them to smaller oil companies who will guarentee to pump the oil and sell it at a lower price. Certainly tax laws could be brought to bear or new ones written so that it just no longer paid for oil companies to sit on oil they own rather than to drill it. How about an oil assets tax or something that's really steep? Clearly the problem is not lack of refineries has had been alledged. Apparently the oil companies don't WANT to build new refineries; things are just peachy the way they are, as far as they're concerned. I'm sure there are lots of other laws being violated, though, and perhaps a new laws that need to be written that are both cleaverly and aptly worded and get the job done by sticking it to the oil companies. Of course Democrats have charged that taking business overseas is encouraged by our tax laws. Also John Mc Cain apparently supported Air Bus, some French company, against Boeing Aircraft, a comestic company. What we need is economic policy that puts America first and that includes the awarding of government contracts. Conservatives love to call liberals "Un-American" but from here it seems as if the shoe is clearly on the other foot.

What Obama needs to do in his speeches is spell out all the economic realities to Americans and make them realize that these Neo Cons do not have America's best interests at heart. Of course you realize that is gasoline really reflected the price of oil today it'd be selling above five dollars a gallon. But Obama doesn't need to tell the people that. But for instance the unemployment rate is a lot higher than 5.5%. They said it was 13% for able bodied males between 20 and 55. This is up from 11% in 1998 and 1988 and up from 9% in 1979 and from six percent in 1968. The economy was pretty darned healthy in 1968. All of the people who are under-employed or those discouraged workers no longer even looking for a job should be counted. Of course this bloated labor market keeps wages down because people are afraid they'll be next to be on the unemployment line, so it's kind of economic control of the workers by fear.

In terms of progress on the Impeachment bill, it has been suggested that Nancy Palosi and other congress people don't want to bring the 35 Articles up because of that "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones" argument. The reasoning goes that congress is corrupt therefore they don't feel "morally right" about exposing the corruptness of others. The argument is completely idiotic. I don't care if Nancy Palosi is a mass murderer- - I still want her to bring up this impeachment bill before congress. If she has committed any "sins" in the past, then this action will go tword her redemption. More to the point it would seem that we need another spring house cleaning in November. The 2006 purge of congress apparently wasn't thorough enough and we need to get more overtly reformist people in congress next time, to work with our new president, Berock Obama. Mc Cain says he claims to care about people's economic problems. If he's serious about that then he should be humble and say "I don't know anything; please inform me and tell me what I need to do" to his economic advisers. Somehow I get the feeling John Mc Cain is not quite the ignoramus he claims to be with all of those lobbiests hanging around. My fear about this Presidential campaign is that it won't be pursued with enough vigor.

Let me just say a little about the I Phone II, or whatever it's being called 3 G or whatever. It would still seem that businessmen prefer the Blackberry. As far as I've been able to glean, other phones are still cheaper and get the job done better, with more flexability than the I phone. All the new I Phone does is let us know that Apple is not completely stupid. Just to change the subject slightly- - - are IQ tests for our kids really going up now? Have all these electronic gismos they carry with them made them smarter- - or could Sir Isac Newton with a slide rule still blow any of them out of the water? Back in the day, "Logic" and "Rhetoric" used to be taught in our institutions of higher learning. Are people still taking these? You know a lot of these skills are highly applicapable to math and science. I sometimes get the idea that the youth are today are more Drugged out than stimulated by the technology of today. Am I right?

A Warning Shot accross the Bough

This is the 29th. posting of "Karmic Suicide" and I think hexigram no. 29 has to do with boats and "The Abysmal Water". Let me check that out. Well, this is kind of an ordenary day so what am I going to talk about on this Tuesday Afternoon? (It still is in California, but not for long) As you know Paul Mc Cartney may have been razzing the Moody Blues in his line "Tuesday Afternoon is never ending". If you want some free stuff from The World Beyond before we get started with the 35 Articles of Impeachment of George Bush, the Federation now says that all those people who died when Aldeberan IX was blown up by Alcyonne in June of 1967 actually survived in consciousness. I was formerly under the impression that they had been inilated- - like they just "Ceased to Exist". The Federation taggs them as the Birmingham group, and I'm not sure if all the following groups are from Birmingham but here we go- - Traffic, Pink Floyd, Procol Herem, Black Sabbath, and the Moody Blues. It's the Federation that links these groups together- not me.

OK if you listened to Randi Rhodes today you know that last night she listened in rapt attention to CSPN, a station I don't even get, to several hours of Dennis Kasinitch's reading of the 35 Articles of Impeachment of George Bush that he had drafted, and it reportedly took several hours. I downloaded the whole thing onto Adobe Reader, but it took a little time to find because Google seemed reluctant to give me anything in Kassinitch Impeachment or 35 Articles. Perhaps it's because I can't spell. Randy describes herself as being in some altered, hypnotized state, and she says "Normal people just don't watch CSPN. She says sometimes it weird to get information that only You have and can't share with anybody. That's how I feel now with Mark Campbell and Bill Gunderson out of my current reality. You know- - sometimes a Revolution can be a noble thing even if it fails. Take that Bar Kopha guy or whoever that led the rebellion of Judah in 135 AD. You know that revolution failed, but in the words of Jack Nicholson, "Well, I tried- god-damn-it! At least I did that". In point of fact the Jews were able to obtain an independant state for a couple of years or so and even minted their own coins. I point this out because most of what you hear about this Second Jewish Revolt is negative. The leader is spoken of as a "false messiah". But if you look at what he did he was a great organizer, and his followers did everything in their human power such at the revolution should succeed, including the timing of the attack at the most oppertune moment. If you're wondering how this relates to Dennis Kassitinich let me just say that he has the heart of a true revolutionary. And the thing is I'm not sure whether anybody on the left at this point isn't dealing with a stacked deck and a rigged craps table. There are still roomers floating around that George Bush might not even allow the election of 2008 to take place. Many of these 35 articles, perhaps too many, have to do with the Iraq War and the fraud leading up to it. Of course that Poker Deck thing has 54 things that Bush is guilty of and I'd have to cross-reference to see which ones mesh with the other. But the point Randy was trying to make is that the news isn't going to report such a momentus event. The media in a perverse sense really "defines" what is "True" and "Worthy News" and "Relevant" in our society today. It's not just that they slant the news- - -they produce the news like a Broadway Play is produced. It's coriographed with actors and scenery and the whole shabang. It could be said that he who controls our vocabulary controls our thinking, and Thom Hartmann has talked a lot about this in "Cracking the Code". In fact if you go to his web site or to your local book store if you can still find one, you should buy all his books.

One thing I’d like to mention right now is a report from the Iraqi government that says they fear a permanent U S force occupation, and the nation is telling us to get out. Also it is feared by Iran that we plan to use Iraq as a staging area for an invasion. John Mc Cain and George Bush are such idiots they don’t care what the Meliki government thinks. We’ll leave there when we’re good and ready and not one minute before. If some kind of conflict engagement breaks out, hell it isn’t our fault. There is a Star Trek saying "You have manipulated the situation with the skill of a Romulan". This is another way of saying that "incidents" can be fabricated so that the American People almost beg their leaders to lead them into war. As grammar school kids they were shown that film on the Simpsons that makes going to war look like just another very realistic 3D video game. And it only last briefly but then you come home to all the acolades and praise. According to C S Lews, as I have often disparagingly quoted, you go into battle and get blown up by a shell and die instantly and presumably painlessly, and are instantly transported to heaven where you shed your old body, "which is as refreshing as a shower" According to the gospel of Bush, no military presence can be said to "provoke" conflict, if it's Us, because We're Perfect! Why, our forces wouldn't harm a fly! You know, instead of arguing against World War II, Pat Buchannon should be working NOW to put all that propaganda tallent of his into ending THIS war, before it spreads. I thought of opening this posting with something like 'Today here in California- - it's a normal day. You should charish this time in American history- - savor it. Because it may be the last time in a long time you can remember that we are NOT at war with Iran, which will be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire". Hell, at the defence department they're resourseful with propaganda. They can get the American Public to hate just about anybody! One way vocabulary and language creep into our thinking is when a conservative says "Obama wants to surrender the whole Mideast to Al Qaida. The idea of US withdrawal is a congruent cognate to the word "Surrender it all". No matter how good they say our side is doing, it seems the minute we get out the whole area will go to put instantly and Al Qaida and the Shiites will conspire together to take over the whole world or something. I had momentarily forgotten about that all important “17.4” astrological indicator. But I had several months if not a year ago predicted June of 2008 would be a foreign flash point for the Bush Administration and this would cause the republican nominee a lot of trouble in his campaign. It would be easy to just say “Well, it looks like a slam dunk for Obama now”. But of course we are all like Pavlov dogs and the minute we hear the L word, "Liberal" we all salivate on command. Who was that guy Hartman had on today, was it Negroponte? Anyhow he said that an attack of Iran is definitely still on the table. He says it's a logical next move. Even if launching a war during an election year seems like Political Suicide, we know Bush is "not your father's President" so to speak. We know he had the Iraq war rubber stamped in 2002 just before an election. Bush is good at reading the public will. You know “Libre” is the Spanish word for “Free”. Liberalism has as its core the concept of “Liberty” and Freedom and also “Liberate” means “To Free”. I say this because I’ve heard these terms like “Fascism of the left” but such notions aren’t “Liberal”. I noted in entries that they like to include “Free thinkers” with Atheists. “Free Thinking” is still legal, isn’t it?

This last part is typed after dinner (on Sunday). In the hour before dinner I was looking at things like the Gospel of Mark and ‘Papius”, who supposedly came up with the Mark as disciple of Peter theory. This Papius is an obscure man who died in AD 155 at the same time as Polycarp. Irenius refers to him as a “man of old” even though he is only thirty or so years in the past. Eusubius ever the historian, flauts Papius for his belief in the second coming of Christ. I didn’t know that the Bar Koppla war was more costly to the Romans than was the revolt of AD 70. Some parallels to the gospels are noteworthy. There is the phrase “Twelve legions”, which Hadrian sent to battle at Jerusalem. There is the idea of the Jews minting coins with their own inscription, usually melted down from other foreign coins. There is the whole “Star of Jacob” thing or “Son of a Star”. But most noteworthy is the idea of the Abomination of Desolation being set up on the temple site and the idea even now that “The Antichrist” would start off offering to rebuild Jerusalem. Hadrian at first felt sorry for Israel but when the Jews learned he planned to put two idols up, one of himself and one of Jupiter, they revolted. It was a better organized revolt which was coordinated with all the troops. In the AD 70 war, three army factions fought each other for control of the temple mount. It was stated it was only at this time there was a division between traditional Jews and Christian Jews, the latter saying the messiah had already come in Jesus. Also there are many historians who say that Matthew’s gospel really was written before Mark’s. Some have said that Mark’s gospel “contains more distinctly Roman phrasing than Matthew or Luke”.

If I think of anything more to say on this subject I will. You know, Belmont Park could be called a “Champion Breaker”. Here is a jinx that is 31 years and counting. But almost as impressive are the US presidential elections that are “Liberal Breakers”. Only Jimmy Carter could by any stretch of the imagination be called a pure liberal. And it’s popular belief that most Americans despise him. When an insurance company is compiling actuarial tables it assigns the lowest rates to things that virtually never happen. The odds of Obama being “dealt with” by the Powers that Be are high, simply because an election of such a man as President is something that has never happened. “The best indication of future behavior is past behavior”, to quote Doctor Phil.

Jesus Christ seemed to be saying “Can’t we all get along?” today. He said that girl Susie should make allowances for human imperfection in picking a church. My answer to that is if you flush the book of Acts down the toilet you can get rid of all these ideas about divine sovereignty and the leading of the spirit, and the rest. Because nowhere in acts does it mention “How to search for a church”. The very idea is not even admissible. You know of course that St. Paul saw himself as infallible. The people whom Jesus views infallible, and the only ones, are that group of Cardinals at the council of Nicia in the fourth century. Later on he talked about "apologizing for apologetics." He said, “A lot of people burn Christian tracts as fast as they get them”. My response to this is “Just how did the idea of God loving you and having a Wonderful Plan for your Life- - become a notion of Ill-repute?” Jesus also mumbled something about not “pushing back” at the idea of “growth” and how “growth takes time, but we are too impatient”. I'll define "growth" for you. If someone hits you or whips you- - "growth" is the LOSS of the ability or inclination to strike back out of sheer exaustion. Such horses loose races! (Selah)

Knock - Knock! -Here Comes Israel

It's amazing the things you can listen all day to the media and not learn. Do you know WHY the price of oil hiked up so high on Friday, June 6th? It's because Israel threatened to destroy Iran's nuclear capability. The rap now is that Israel plans to coordinate such attack with Washington. Of course this is a "foreign threat" that just might justify my astrologically based prediction of some foreign crisis developing in the world. Personally if I were an oil man I wouldn't be phased by such a statement. After all, Iran insists, and I believe them, that they only intend to use enriched uranium in peaceful nuclear reactors to bring their electric power generating capabilities into the twentieth century. OK, I forget; this is the 21st. Century. Oh well. . . Apparently they believe some strait in the Persian Gulf would be blocked off or something. Well, which one of you nuts has got any guts? Does anyone want to go "short" in oil futures right now? You could make a bundle, or lose even more, if you're wrong. Hey, as far as I'm concerned my astrological prediction has been vindicated, thus increasing the odds that Obama is headed for Trouble, are also increased. If you want my pick on whether Big Brown will win the tripple crown, that's a big thumbs up! But I have absolutely no prognosticative indicators for that.

Some of the arguments against Atheism are things like "You can't prove a negative". Others say that an Agnostic is an atheist who is too cowardly to admit it. Mark Twain alledgedly said that "Faith is belief in things you know 'taint so". Some say "There are no atheists in fox holes". Some say "Atheism is a refutation of all the charished values of Western Civilization". Some say lack of belief in God is "unscientific". Others say that Atheists are incapable of ever having any "meaning to life". Some say atheists are lacking in any morality and hence "A-moral". Others say that atheists have the "personality flaw" of "lacking in Faith". Some deny that an atheist can ever have any mystical or revelitory experiances if they don't believe in God. Some say that atheists have "no hope" in things like an Afterlife. I'm just throwing out ideas I've read from other people. I am not going to take a position on any of these statements.

Facing our National Economic Crisis

First of all I don't care what Hillary Clinton says tomorrow; she has lost all moral right to even be considered for the vice presidential slot on the ticket. If she gets on it will only add fuel to the fire of people like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh who already consider Berock Obama a conservatives worst nightmare. What Obama needs is a move tword stability. Dianne Feinstein would be a better choice, if he wants a woman. I would like Bill Richardson or Dennis Kassinitch myself, but Joe Biden wouldn't be bad. Traditionally the Vice Presidential position is given to a real nobody who has no political future on his own, and no ego. Hillary is simply "over-qualified" for the job and would in every way be incompatable. I also don't like this media bullshitting calling it a "secret meeting" when it's obviously the most hyped meeting in history. In pragmatic terms, I wouldn't want to encourage any potential assassin by putting you know who on the ticket. If there were even a chance of some PMS whacko out there, I wouldn't take it.

But my other question is what the hell Obama is going to stand for. Randi Rhodes points out he hasn't taken any lobbyest money. This is admerable. He's ahead of his time setting high standards hoping that others will follow by example. But people like Sean Hannity say that Obama has no substance. What does he intend to do about the federal budget deficet? What IS the deficet now? Has it topped five hundred billion yet? Just wait! He needs to get over this Santa Clause mentality of offering voters everything from pre school to universal health care if they vote for him. We can't afford any of that. What will he do about the Social Security crisis? What is his remedy for the trade deficet? What does he intend to do to solve our poliferation of guns in the inner city? How does he feel about prison overcrowding? Is prison the best way to handle our drug addiction problem? Is the rest of the nation really as pro homosexual marriage as we seem to be in California? Will Obama be asked about this in the debates? How does Obama feel about prosecuting members of the Bush Adminestration for war crimes and other "high crimes and misdomeanors"? Has he toyed with the idea of a windfall oil profits tax? How does me feel about control of the comunacations media limited to only a handfull of people and conservatives at that? How does he feel about Bible clubs on school campuses? Does Obama intend to nominate judges that wipe out the religious expressions of Christians?

. I listened to Randy Rhodes at noon till she referenced Sean Hannity. You know, many of the things Hannity asserts I can agree with. We don’t need socialized medicine. And the single payer system where the government writes the check but you control the doctor sounds great, but we as a nation can’t afford it. We can’t afford pre kindergarten to Senior in College either. There are times when a young person grows up they have to take responsibility for their own actions, and I am all for that. On the soap opera, John Black took to attacking Lucas, which seemed uncalled for. Max flaked out on the celebration of the Pub going all green. That “certification” only seemed to take a few days from when the idea was first proposed. Max says that guy helping Nick is a total fraud, and I guess he has evidence. John paid a guy big bucks to get some information on Philip’s activities. [last sentence is deleted]

Oil price per barrel prices have risen to $138.05 per barrel. This is a record. Gasoline prices now average $1.35 a gallon, but that’s going up. They say unemployment hasn’t spiked a half percentage like that in twenty years. 5.5% used to be considered recession territory. How can George Bush possibly say he’s doing a good job and have John Mc Cain follow faithfully in his footsteps? Hannity may call Obama a radical but we need some sort of radical solution to the energy crisis now. I don’t get why all the things people said would “kick in” once the price got higher, haven’t seemed to materialize yet. I suppose some are still saying “Well the 1974 prices would be six dollars a gallon in today’s prices”. I’ve heard that. Airlines are cutting back service and cutting back routs and reducing the number of passengers they carry any way they can. The day may be fast approaching when air traffic as we’ve known it for forty or fifty years may be a thing of the past. Personally, I think a good bullet train surface line system is the way to go for a lot of routs. There are the Canadian “oil sands” in Alberta. What became of that? What about ecological coal mining in Montana? What about drilling at ANWAR? What about off shore drilling step ups in production off the gulf and in California? Are we building new refineries? Why is it people say that Hybred cars aren’t that great? Are we serious about instituting a 35 mph car engine in the foreseeable future? Ethanol production isn’t worth the energy to produce it. It seems as if all these other means such as solar and wind power are just shots in the dark and after forty years or so amount to nothing. I don’t have the answer but our government doesn’t seem inclined to do anything about anything. They have this thing in the news about how holding a garage sale is a good way to earn money. The only thing you have accomplished is to accidently sell something that might be worth a lot of money. In case you don’t know, recessions are times to buy and not to sell. Even if you should make a thousand dollars, that won’t cover one month’s mortgage payment. If people are so convinced energy companies are raking in all these obscene profits, why not buy stock in them? You know a recession follows an inflation spurt; it doesn’t precede it. Whatever problems we’re having now with inflation we’re going to pay for in recession statistics later on. And with the coming recession, which is only now just hitting most people, comes a ballooning of the federal deficit. And these democrats have these pipe dreams about expanding free education and universal health care. This is not the time for such wild eyed ideas. We have far more immediate concerns to worry about. The stock market Down Jones Industrial index dropped 340 points today or something. It’s up one day and down the next, as the insiders get rich. You know – the housing situation really isn’t a problem unless you bought a house five or six years ago. If you bought it any other time you have nothing to worry about. The liberals at times do use the fear card. Because “Everybody” isn’t losing their home, only a small percentage are. These people should chalk it up to a learning experience. Liberals speak of “cuts” like in education, when what they mean is a slight reduction in the whopping level of increase these unionists wanted. I don’t know why Swartzenegger is declaring a monetary crisis because I thought the reason why he was put in office was to solve all that. I’m also puzzled by the water crisis considering that we got a normal amount of rain this year but we didn’t last year, and last year there was no crisis. It’s a politician’s job to sort out the problems that are real and those problems that not only can, but should be ignored and allowed to work themselves out. Now they are telling people to rip out the greenery in their yards and put in sage brush and cactus or something a little more “ecologically friendly”, when the Fire Department at other times will tell you to clear brush a hundred feet from your house. Just between you and me if I never saw another fire story or another shooting story or auto chase story this year, it would be too soon.

I have often discussed that we revamp our money system for a five to one dollar consolidation. Just what would our minimum wage be? About $1.85. That’s about what it was in 1968. Let’s see how other prices stack up by 1968 standards. A can of Coke would run twelve to fifteen cents. Movies would be about two dollars. A record album would run you about $3.50. So far so good. But there would be certain “anomalies” that would take some getting used to. For instance back then you would never be charged ten dollars just to set foot inside an amusement park. A “decent” full sized car would run you eight thousand dollars and up. That’s high. Apartment rentals for any decent apartment would run you $250.00 a month. Definitely high. Gasoline would run you about ninety cents per gallon. Way high. Almost any medication? Don’t even ask. And no way back then would you plop down seventy cents for a cup of coffee.

I can’t for the life of me fathom why they don’t put more forward looking stories in the news. For instance, has anybody thought of a way or reorganizing the UN to make it more functional in today’s world? What about these non lethal weapons they could use in riots in stuff like that “ray gun” thing on Sixty Minutes or other forms and stuff? Is the “death lobby” really that strong? What about that Phoenix Mars craft? We know that it is safely on Mars but we don’t know what new discoveries have been made in the past week. When was the last time they had an ethics debate in the news about the quandary of over-population, which is much more of a crisis now than it was forty years ago when the topic was fashionable to discuss? Has anyone even sat down and thought hard about the real economic consequences are of five dollar a gallon gasoline? Like global warming, the consequences of high gas prices have a compounding effect, and each result is in turn a cause for far reaching and even unanticipated ramifications.

Selling Your Soul for a Buck

We've all seen the burger adds where a father and son hamburger are there and the father chides the son saying "Junior, how can you sell yourself for a buck. You're a disgrace to the hamburger profession" and then Junior gets mad and says "Sometimes I wish I'd never been broiled". Well it seems there is some sort of deal making or whoring out in the political profession today. Some way somehow, Berock Obama obtained the coveted endorsement of John Kerry, with all of his "political connections". One wonders why Kerry just didn't endorse Hillary since everyone sees her as the eventual winner. Such an endorsement can't come cheap, any more than Anne Baxter's endorsement by George Sanders was easily obtained in "all about eve". We know how valuable certain endorsements are with all their political contacts. We also know that Edwards had to change his Two Americas speech after he became Kerry's running mate in 2004 because it was just too strident for John Kerry's milk toast message. Kerry was a guy who would literally save anything to get elected. (It wasn't enough) If there was ANY question whom I am endorsing now there no longer is. I have to go for Edwards. Senator Edwards has consistently won in all of the Thom Hartman phone polls. The results are too consistent with Edwards and Dennis Kessinitch at the top, not to have some significance, one that the media is ignoring. I am very unhappy to hear that Bill Richardson is getting out of the race. Along with Joe Byden and Chris Dodd, this whittles down the field consiterably. Why spend all that time for a whole year running for President only to quit a few yards short of the finish line? It doesn't make sense. It's not as if he has to remain a candidate till August- all he has to do is hold out one more month. A withdrawal at this late date will only cause confusions on all the ballots that have been printed up. People want to hear men of subatance like Byden, Dodd and Richardson. We've all had it to here with "the front runners". Now that Obama has whored himself out it's unlikely we'll ever hear another substantive word out of his mouth. Of course the news departments are all whores going after that "entertainment" market. All of the top ranking reporters have to keep job security in mind and not risk losing their jobs like Dan Rather did over some minor misstep, and Rather's mistake was a minor misstep. Dan Rather had the facts right about George Bush's military carrerr. But he also had a forge document. That's all the "drive by media" needs is a red hearing to wring your neck with. We need the wisdom of the people who have dropped out, particularly Joe Byden. Byden is the sort of person who can't capsulate his vast experiance in a thirty second news bite. Once again these three have been running a year and perhaps longer. They started running early and I would presume they did this because they wanted to win and not because they wanted to drop out. John Edwards says he's staying in the race till the convention. I wouldn't bet the farm on that. I heard John Edward's speech Tuesday night on MSNBC. Edwards cares about people. I think of the top three left standing Edwards is easily one of the highest moral principles. It would be refreshing to see a candidate take on "the system" and government by Corporation. I think Edwards is a man who could really "make a difference". Edwards pointed out that ninety-nine percent of the votes still haven't been counted yet. When Richardson talks about "Not doing well in the early primary states" we must correct him. That is STATE, singular. There has only been one primary. I'm so sick of this stuff I can't say about "Well is so & so comes in second he'll have to drop out because he has lost". Give me a break! These candidates who don't come in first in the first two races should give the media the finger and say "If you people won't help me get my word out I'll just have to work harder in other ways". They say boycotts are always good. You don't suppose we could boycott the four major networks, could we?

I want to talk one more time about "Sin". Under Calvinism, sin cannot exist. Sin is defined as departure from the Perfect will of God. We know that everything that happens is predestined and so IS the perfect will of God. The word Perfect means that which is in its ideal form and any alteration of it would be a move tword imperfection. We know God is a fully actually actualized being. We know that God can't learn anything new. All God will ever know he knows now. Therefore this notion of being "disappointed" with man is nonsense. By its definition in the Greek the word perfect also means "Finished" or "Complete". People say the reason why we have Evil on the planet is that God has to abandon his perfect will in favor of his Permissive will, that is 2nd. best. Once again, Calvinistically this is impossible. Man by his own efforts can do NOTHING to achieve holiness. When someone says the word Impossible, perhaps we should believe them. Is confessing Christ "Doing something"? Well, is confessing Christ "Doing nothing?" answer that one. To say sin exists is to say that man "missed" something in his moral goals and aims. That he departed from some Perfection which, on some level had to be at least Possible. But no! Man's so called SIN or ERROR - - Always WAS. It never NOT Existed! There is no logical way he could fall short. There is no way since creation that God can divert the Universe from its pre prescribed path. The one thing God cannot do is change his mind- - and that includes even if you confess your sins fifteen times a day. We are saved by pre election and pre election alone. All that God is may be defined by Theology and without theology one can question whether there is evidence for God. But also- if we insist on a "sign" try this: All that God is is reflected in Circumstance. God lets his perfect will be known by circumstance. Jesus on KFI said "You only go around once in life; there are no do-overs". Well we don't know if God did any "trial runs" in some other dimension. We know only that THIS is the dimension that counts because THIS is where we are. We may have succeeded ten times in a row in some trial run in a parrellel Universe- but it's what we are doing NOW that counts. And since we get rewarded- - not by how we bless others, but by how much we are blessed by God, we CAN DO NOTHING to improve our salvation. If I had "Do overs" for portions of my life to be honist I can't say whether things would turn out better having another go at it. I think in some cases they would, but you don't know. Jesus on KFI says that nobody gets second chances. Some will say "Well, we have control. We can respond to the quickening of the Holy Spirit in our hearts". The trouble is Jesus never talks about the Holy Spirit, and I don't think the KFI preacher believes in it. It can't be overstated that if our salvation is based on something we DECIDE to do, then we have at least some control. Calvinistic predestination affords us no control. The only humane way out, to me is to bring about Universalism. If everybody gets saved, God looks like a good guy and reveals his power over All.

The Crying Game

You may remember that when John Kerry was looking for votes in Ohio people relied on the exit polls to project a Kerry victory but then there was a three or four point percentage discrepancy and people made a lot of that. In the case of Hillary beating O Bama 39% to 36% there is no less than a sixteen percentage point discrepency that materialized over the period of just one day. The question is how? I can imagine the sort of show Rush Limbaugh will have today. I'm definitely tuning in. Rush is the one who has said that love is the one emotion you can't fake, unless of course you're a woman, and thank God for that. The thing is men have emotions, too, but at least with men you know it's their real emotions. Women have always used their emotions as tools of the trade in work or whatever. Women have used their emotions to get their way since Biblical times. Of course if you're a man at some kind of a spiritual revival meeting you may feel the need to fake emotions, because in metaphore, the man plays the part of the "woman" with "God" as the man, who's supposed to be "faked out" by your emotions of exticy. I would not believe anything at this point Hillary said or did because she's a pathological liar. As you know she talked about that "vast right wing conspiracy" with Monica Luinsky, knowing all along that the alligations about her were true. Then there was that piece of "fiction" she wrote in her book that when she found out about Monica, her jaw dropped open and she felt like she was going to pass out- - and all of that. The thing is if it's wrong for Ed Muskey to cry in 1972 as somehow a sign of "instability" for a job such as the Presidency, why is it any more "acceptable" for a female Presidential candidate to cry? You know I didn't see the debate last Saturday. Being a man, I was doing what all red blooded American men were doing; I was watching a football game. Neither did I see Bill Clinton angrily come to the defense of his wife on Monday. Once again, if it had been a first lady coming to the defence of a man because "someone made him cry" it would really look unmanly.

We kept hearing that those votes from Hanover and Dartmoth College were going to come in any moment where all the young people voted to sway the score from its 39% to 36% tally. What we didn't hear was the slightest hint that this vote was going to come out like this. I don't want to say that the fix was in but I'd like to see someone explain a sixteen percentage point swing in the space of one day. Monday it was "Panic" and Tuesday it's "Total victory". Of course I may have jinxed it myself when I used the phrase "Going for the brass ring". I've never used it before and I'll probably never use it again. The original "last song" on that compilation was a highly apocraliptic song about doom, gloom, and total destruction. Except we'd already used the track on "Radio Ready". Pat Buchannon is a new found Hillary supporter by his remarks on MSNBC last night.

Of course the other phenominum was that John Mc Cain came in first on the Republican side. This has to be the most meaningless victory of all time. We know he is "toast" as a candidate. He's all washed up. People call him "grandpa Mc Cain". So let him have his day. It will be his last. Equally meaningless is Romney's two losses in a row. This projects nothing as to Romney's future. Some may ask me, "What do you care about Mit Romney, you're never going to vote for him". That is quite true. To be honist as this point I'm thinking of voting for Ron Paul. I think he got eight percentage points. I thought perhaps he might get more. But the thing is you have Mc Cain in at first and Romney in at second, and Huckibee at 3rd. but look who is lurking at fourth place. Giuliani. Giuliani is there in stealth mode just waiting to make his mood. I DON"T want Giuliani to be on any ticket as a choice on election day. The prospect of his election fills me with more dread than anybody else. We need to see what will happen in Michigan. If Romney wins big in Michigan, people will come to look more kindly on him. I think Romney is the best choice the right can make to articulate their views in some debate forum.

We've been hearing that the stock markets have not been performing that well in the first week or so of this year. While I could say "I told you so", actually I was expecting a much WORSE drop off for the beginning of this year. I made a number of dire predictions about January of 2008 that haven't exactly come to pass yet. It could be they aren't telling us things. It could be that I just "jumped the gun" in saying we were headlong into a major economic recession.

I'd like to endource Governor Swartzenegger's four Indian tribe amendments to boost revenues. If you heard the governor's speech yesterday afternoon you had to be impressed with it. He spoke of building infrastructure. He spoke of ecology and the need to sue the Federal Government to "get it out of our way" so we can do the job we know we need to do. He spoke of No Child Left Behind- - and the need to take action against schools that don't comply so that we don't lose federal funds. The governor spoke of revenues as being "flat" and we were now off the sugar high of the spike in revenues two years ago, and how we need a constitutional amendment to institute automatic mid year budget cuts, to prevent crises in the future.

A Varitable Potpuree of Topics

I’d like to make a few remarks about “Handicap Theology”. As you know the mantra of Born Again to outsiders (including me) is “Die to Self”. However another trait touted as a virtue is deliberately cutting off your nose to spite your face. Rev. Peacock once preached on a Greek guy who cut off his little finger because he said it was “in the way” producing certain pottery. In the book “Misery” Annie Wilkes speaks of South Africans who cut off one or both feet of slaves who worked in the mines so that they would not escape. In another book I read how Roman condemned prisoners who worked in the sulpher mines branded them and then gorged out an eye with a hot poker so I guess they’d look so hideous they’d never want to show their face above ground. Of course you have ghettoized handicapped communities such as deaf people, where they see people who don’t sign as outsiders and aliens. Of course many Christians “tie half their brain behind their backs” like Rush Limbaugh. They deliberately pride themselves on their newfound stupidity. As you know Gene Scott has made the statement, “I hate people who know it all”. I bed he does. That must mean he hates God. What he really hates is anybody who actually knows more than he does, as all pastors do.

Today I was playing an old video tape from late August mid September of 1993. There was a Star Trek episode about aliens taking over people’s bodies. There was President Clinton’s speech on health care. And there was Days of our Lives where Samantha was screwing around with the life of her sister, Carrie. You saw a younger, sexier Carrie, and a much younger Lucas Roberts. And there was also a scene about Roman and Abe Carver digging around the life of Stephano. They never heard the valued adage, “Let dead dogs lie”. Sometimes digging for worms only resurrects them. In my own life the late spring and early summer had been a bad one for me in terms of event following hard upon event overwhelming me. They say “Whatever doesn’t kill you will make you stronger”. Don’t believe that for a minute. The events of mid 1993 started me to drinking alcohol and made me a decidedly “weaker” individual than I was.

Some people don’t like churches that after you are supposedly “saved” say, “That is all well and good but you really can’t be sure you’re saved unless you jump through all of our hoops.” Wouldn’t you like to tell the pastor of such a church to go fuck himself, and use the Bible as your scriptural support? I think it’s time for a new denomination of the Church of the Sanctified “Go Fuck Yourself!”

The Federation is still sticking to their support for Mit Romney. I wish they weren’t so lilly-livered about recommending the Chargers. The Federation is still bullish on Romney. Apparently all the Republicans were “piling on” Romney in the debate last night- - that I missed- - and he “wasn’t a member of their club” because of his money. But the Federation states “Having money to spend in yourself is no vice” and they also say, “Being smart and having the ability to accomplish things- is no vice”. Of course one has to wonder whether an assasenation is in Obama’s future. We all know that “the system” won’t let the Black man get ahead, so- - what will they do to stop him this time? It would be the first time since 1960 that a true visionary liberal was a party’s standard bearer for president. People say that the Hillary Clinton campaign is close to a melt-down. They can’t “go after Obama” like they would anyone else, because they don’t want to be seen as opposing a worthy Black man. And they reason that in the remote event Hillary loses, they don’t want to ruin her chances for advancing in the Senate to a status such as majority because she is seen as vicious and vindictive.

Here’s some stuff that has never appeared in my writings before. As you may know from 1973 tro 1975 when Richi Vallenz “died” a second time so to speak, Richi lived in Stanton and had human friends. What I have never said before is that I never met any of these HUMAN friends personally but have only seen photographs of them and heard how they sing. Bill Bormann and Timothy Langly are “OK” according to the Federation to mention (not that I need their permission to mention the others by name) but there is some Federation rule about naming associates of Romulins you’ve never met. There were three “New CMK Members” in 1971. The third person was expelled as a CMK member in June of 1972 and is roomered to have overdosed on heroin in January of 1974. My information on this is scanty but I’ve heard nothing to contradict it. This individual is honored on our latest compilation and here’s how you find the piece. I’m not saying I’d lie about anything but you people know us internet people are a bunch of natural born liars. If my stuff is 90% true you should count yourself lucky. Here’s another secret. When I first met Zachery as a seven month old baby on April 13^th. 1976 I got the distinct impression the baby already knew me and expected me to know who he was. The Romulans, by how nervous they acted, also seemed to indicate it was “one of their own- - that I knew” who was Zachery, and NOT the illustrious Brian Jones. So this has always been a possibility- - just one I don’t talk about much. The other day as I was typing I got the distinct impression that someone had come in the room and was standing behind me. As I was about to turn off “Bad Moon Rising” that was playing the voice “No, this song is a good omen- - because it is an exit point”. Demmis Wilson “escaped” a body as it was being born in 1984 in the sign of Cancer “with a bad moon rising”. It’s too bad people can’t astrally escape their bodies. In Dennis Wilson’s case he boomeranged back into the body in late August of 1985 and was stuck for another couple of years or so before getting out. “Jumping Jack Flash” is said to be an autobiographical song about Dennis Wilson in this brief life.

The writer's strike really sucks, doesn't it. Just be glad I'm not subject to that. Now we hear that late night talk show hosts will attempt to boost their ratings by having each other as guests on their shows. In late news Obama is now leading in New Hampshire by double digits. We progressives could not ask for better news. We now have a chance to grab the brass ring that we last got a glimpse of before April of 1968. Unlike Christian pastors, we don't believe in whining, harranging, cajoling or threatening our listeners. We take a page out of Joel Olsteen and merely speak of things as though they were true. Amazingly the reason why other Christians have troubles is because they play the game of hot potato that they'd got to get rid of quickly. By the way I bet you didn't know I'm a "Let It Be" virgin. This is one movie to this day I have never seen, but of course everybody else speaks of the events that take place in it. I owe several of the inspirations of songs below to Yahoo sixties rock. They featured this song on Christmas comedy in Yahoo Music. Actually six of these don't even belong on this listing. Personally I regard facing my in-laws a blessing rather than a curse at this point, and many other items on this list I'd call the blessings of Christmas. The reason why I'm even talking about Christmas is that time for me had kind of stopped. I was scheduled to go with the family on December 29th. but the day before came down with a bad flu virus and notibly a cough that "Keeps on hanging on" to paraphraise the Vanilla Fudge. Of course the reason why I'm sick is because I was stressed out to begin with and my system is just "run-down". If you're Stevie Wonder or the people in Grinchville I guess you don't care whether you have "Christmas" or not but for the rest of us it can be downright stressful. My brother was going to come over with my gifts. I have a gift probably worth twenty dollars and perhaps more- - to give to him. But I know there are a lot of machinations at work with our family. Of course time has also stopped when it comes to things like getting the bathroom sink worked on. The faucet leaks- - badly, and getting worse- - and the area under the sink is ruined due to leakage, and the toilet also needs a simple part replacement. The other night I had a coughing fit that was so bad I didn't think it would ever stop. I felt like I was being water-borded. I wasn't ready to die just yet. Other people around here have died, and nobody asked their permission to take their lives. For breakfast this morning we had the thinnest cream of wheat this side of a Dickens classic. We had one bagel, one sausage, a small OJ and one not entirely full cup of coffee. And that's the way life is around here. The place sounds like a T B ward with people hacking their brains out spreading germs and not being given needed cough medicine. This week my doctor is on vacation sipping Mai Tais on the beach in Hawaii.

My message to God at this point is, "You shall receive no sign from me except the sign of the Cherokee Nation". Because the Cherokee's were one tribe who wanted to learn White ways and assimilate white culture. Their young were taught English and their people became literate and even dressed like Whites. They even owned Negro slaves like White people. But then came along that traitor Andrew Jackson. The Cherokee people had fought bravely with him in battle in the past against the Creek Indians. But to repay them in 1928 he ran on a platform of exiling the Cherokee people from their land and in 1838 there was the "trail of tears" as the Cherokee people were relocated to Oklahoma during one of the coldest winters they've ever had. I think the message to God is clear. When you're a Christian you lose your identity to the person who "peddled" the faith to you in a pyramid ponsie scheme. It doesn't matter how many times you've confessed Jesus because once you're cut off from your Source, there is no way you can contact God because THEY control you're contact with God because it's THEIR God and not yours to begin with. Jesus once told the Jews, "You shall receive no sign but the sign of Jonah". I would guess that Jesus wasn't doing miracles this day. But I happened to think that there are few people Jesus resembles less than Jonah. How about "Why couldn't Jesus have been more like Jonah", as an explosive sermon title? Jonah was a rebel who was "corrected" by God. God made it clear to Jonah just who was God and the proper relation of humility between them. When did Jesus do this? When Jonah preached to a people he personally despized, the Assyrians, they repented. God told Jonah "Get over it". When Jesus preached to the Jews, a people and culture he personally despized- - it was merely a prelude to their inilation forty years later. Jesus on KFI said "Being humble means being put to shame" or something like that. But I say unto you that being humble is realizing you simply are not in control of the events in your own life. When did this ever apply to Jesus of Nazareth? (Selah)

Moving on to a happier topic the Iowa caucuses were held last night and Obama won. A Black came in first place with 38% or something with Edwards at 30% and Hillary in at 29%. They say an alltogether younger crowd came to the Iowa caucuses. In the Republicans is it was an up or down winner take all vote. With the democrats if your selection did not get fifteen percent of the vote, you had to have a "second choice". And Kasinitch and others may have made "deals" with Obama to make Obama their 2nd. choice. Obama would be the Jack Kennedy of this generation if he's able to rise to the occasion. A broad horizon has been placed before him, and now the question is whether he is able to rise to the challenge. Hubkibee won among the Republicans with Romney in at second and Thompson at third. Romney spent all that time and money in Iowa with nothing to show for it. Huckibee symbolizes change among the Republicans. Some are now saying that Michael Bloomberg will be announcing for President any day now and that he still plans to place Chuck Hagel as his vice president. I won't say for the other democratic candidates like Joe Byden or Chris Dodd to drop out right now. They still have something to say, and they should stay in the race merely to keep the other candidates sharp.

In terms of Auld Lang Sine, the words "Lang" and "Zein" are actual words on the old Sirius A Federation. "Lang" means "Old" but not the kind of obsolete "old" as in "Old Sirius - - " but rather an "old" meaning been around a long time. "Zein" means "desire" among the Sirius A people and the Sirius A Romulins. But the Romulins on Regelus V or Denelus II and IV don't like that word one bit because they say it refers to the blueness of the "Druanian" gene (that we've talked about before) Among Romulans they don't ask you "Are you Jewish?" but rather, "Are you bluish?" Indeed the first year of the ZAC it was called the Zionisum Analisis Committee" due to this Romulan influence. The Sirius people say that the word "Zein" is kind of like "Dezign" in English and demotes imagination, and there is nothing at all racial about the word. - - - They've sent stuff in the E mail that says the Antarians have the biggest star of all. This may be why the Federation was afraid of them four thousand years ago. Contrary to that mailing- - Reigel is seen as outshining "Betelguese". I may have more another time.

Is Osama Bin Laden Dead?

Thursday morning it was announced that former prime minister of Pakistan, Benizir Bhutto was dead, that she had been shot and the neck and died after doctors worked on her a half hour. Then the Al Qaida terrorists or whoever they are set off a truck bomb that killed the perpitrater and twenty other people. Now the people are rioting because they think the Musharif government was behind the killing. Bhutto popped her head out of a car roof to wave good-bye to her fans and they say that the government had blocked off all the exits except one and this is suspicious. Thom Hartman says that Musharif should delay the elections next month after people fought so hard to get them, just so that Bhutto's party could mount an opposition campaign. If Musharif even so much as "allowed" the killing to take place he was being foolish because this might be the critical mass "event" to set off some sort of nuclear chain reaction to set off World War III kind of like the shooting of Arch Duke Ferdemand in 1914 set off World War I. We know that in 1914 people chose up sides and Alliance mutually backed each other. We know that with 20 / 20 hindsight this might not have happened but at the time you can be engulfed in events swerling around like water around you. We need to thank God we have not had another World War in my lifetime. But there is that last brief case yet to be opened - and for some reason that always seems to be the one with the million dollars in it- - and you realize too late that you pressed your luck one round too long. (Selah) But now the news is that there is a detaled account of Bin Laden's funeral held in December 2001 in Tora Bora and everyone who was in attendance, and how he was burried in an unmarked grave according to the wanabe (?) tradition in Islam. Furthermore Bhutto on one of her speeches in October made reference to the killing of Bin Laden and the guy who did it, but the remarked escaped the notice of one and all reporters. This is a little hard to believe, but if it's true that Bin Laden is really dead it will further reduce President Bush's cradibility.

One wonders about other people who may or may not be dead. Billy Gram's death will most certainly set off a hysterical comvultion throughout the born again community. Many people will lament it as the death of Christianity itself. One wonders about Chuck Smith, pastor of "Big Calvary" in Costa Mesa. He is known for predicting all these eronious dates for the end of the world, almost as if he wanted it. He has spoken of wondering what kind of world his little grand daughter would inheret- - - and this is 25 years ago. I haven't heard much from Chuck recently but he for the longest time spoke of looking forward to death and "leaving this tent, which is his body". If you're a Christian leader you can do no wrong. If you're someone like me you can do no right. Even if my prediction of the death of Christianity within thirty years proves completely true, nobody is going to celebrate my accurecy, any more than they have celebrated any of the other things I have correctly predicted over the years, and a few of these, such as the rise of Democracy in Latin America, are even in my book. I have spoken of the year 2010 is a "year to watch". Obviously there is the novel and movie "2010" with the tag line, "Europa is mine", which the Federation goes along with. If anybody disappears at midnight of the ninth of October 2010 I don't know whether it will be connected with my predictions. Chuck for the longest time predicted the Soviet Union would get nuked in World War III and utterly destroyed. Then when the Berlin wall fell in 1989 Chuck turned his attention to the countries along Russia's southern border like Georgia, Kasicstan, and Uzbeckistan, which Chuck said would now form a dangerous Moslem confederation that would invade Isrial. But that didn't happen either. My sources tell me that the backers of Calvary style Christianity (that is the Centaurians) have now "lost interest" in their protegy, Chuck, and so that this brand of Christianity is destined to wither on the vine. How interesting it is that Mit Romney is preferred by some of these people for President- - as opposed to an actual ex Born Again preacher.

People get their history screwed up. Karl Rove has stated that Bush was against Congress voting to give President Bush war powers against Iraq before the 2002 election "before the coalition had been gathered". Statements from Bush to congress easily bely this assirtion in that the President pressured congress no end to hurry up and pass the resolution without further debate. Why do certain people resort to "revisionism". I guess one person said that History is the future which hasn't happened yet. Some people like to shape the future.

The Beatles are guilty of this in their description of the song "Revolution". For years I've been hearing they had this slow version worked out but at the last minute the other three Beatles besides author John wanted to put out a faster version. However there exists a recording- - of the song revolution being played fast- - and the lyrics have not been worked out- - and the song is in a very raw phase. - - Of course on the album Imagine there is something with the date of October 1971 on the liner notes. However I have a clear memory of the album being out in late August of 1971. But not only this I have a tape of the songs being recorded at that date, which is around August 25th. of 1971. This is an unexplainable descrepency.

Also a few years back someone spread the story that Santa Clause's red suit first "appeared" in the 1920's when Coca Cola launched a campaign to go with their red bottles. However recently there was a batch of mail from 1912 that was discovered- - and yes, there was a Christmas card in that delivery, and it plainly featured Santa Clause wearing a red suit.

One thing it doesn't take a psychic to predict is people coming back from the dead on soap operas. At the time of John Black's death I remarked that this death was as phoney as a three dollar bill. I'm being proven right. Of course sometimes myth cannot even hide the truth about things. Christianity would have you believe everybody mourned the death Jesus, but that for some strange reason they all had this obsession for hanging around his tomb, as if they expected something to happen. Interestingly Isiah 53, which we have quoted before not only doesn't include anything about crusifiction, but also says that Jesus was presumed "dead" to "his generation". For those of you in Rio Linda, that means that everybody in Jesus life back then assumed that he had died- - somehow, because he "was on the dark side of the road" to quote Dylan. I know a pastor who publicly told this story about when he was fired from his job and how he "figured he'd just have to get a job as box boy at Alpha Beta or something". And yet I was at the meeting where the whole "Church coup" was planned. And I also heard his prayers where he ranted in General Patton fashion about "How could God deny him his moment of glory after bringing him this far"- - that kind of thing. Facts can be tricky things.

In terms of the previous blog just let me restate certain facts. People become "Born Again" Christians because of some lucky flook event in their life that turns their life around for the better and they make a religion out of that event. As for me I've had a lot of "experiances" with Christians but very little "experiance" with God. I'm like the guy on the cliff looking at the saves on the beach, and I keep track of their shapes and how they interract and which direction they are going. Surfers come to me for advice. Yet metaphorically I've never been down to the water and never felt its wetness or saltiness, or examined the marine life in it. Most Christians practice an type of auto-stimulation. They say that joining government gives you a power high that they can't get enough of and it makes a Junkey out of you. Pastors get high on their own words. But these people haven't met God, they have merely auto stimulated themselves from flook events in their own life. Answer me this: There are two teenage boys. One masturbates ten times in a week, and the other masturbates three. Has the one who masturbates ten times a week had three times as much experiance with the opposite sex? Probably not. My response to Chuck Smith who says "experiance isn't important" is that these people SHOULD have a little experiance with God- - because it would get the attention off themselves, much like our masturbating friends. Masturbation is distasteful enough when done in private, but doing it in public simply is not allowed by society. Let me give you one more example. Suppose you're on some geology safari looking at rocks, and Otto from the Simpson's comes along and says "Hey, that's narley man". What if Otto's next statement to the group was "You all speak of experiance with rocks- - but hey, I'm above that sort of thing, man!" They would think he was a jack-ass and why was he here? And yet if a Christian says "I don't need an experiance with God, I've matured beyond all that" we applaud him. I suppose inexperiance gets almost as many applause from a congratation as humility does. We know what a crowd pleaser that is. As I've been saying- - I don't know how the next War is going to happen or just what the next five years holds. Christians have boxed themselves in as Bush Kool-Aid drinkers. My prayer is that our next President won't be a Bush Kool-Aid drinker when he tackles terrorist threats.

Atheisum -A Sound Beginning

I guess a lot of us after Christmas presents have been open go through and reorganize our stuff and see what old things can be moved or discarded. One wonders whether this wouldn't be a good idea with one's religion. It's known that computers process better once they've had their registries cleaned and unnecessary start-up files eliminated, and undergone a de-fragging. It would seem to me in the name of sound mental health one should look at the world with an idea to exploring and examining it, that is, the things that are actually here, and not ideas in one's imagination. If this is true aren't we starting off not too differently from the Hebrews in Egypt, who "didn't even know God's name"? They didn't have all that theology cluttering up their brains or 2nd. and 3rd. hand ideas from old sermons that won't go away. If then there is a God, he or she would have to introduce himself afresh. Something like, "Hi, my name is God, glad to meet you. I'm a monotheist- and I'm really into self worship". People balk at this because it would mean asking a lot of "questions that have already been answered", so they think. The thing is the reason why people who are objects of worship fear questioning like the devil, is because they are afraid that some other competing deity will come up with a better answer than they can, and the layman will run to worship him. Such a God assumes that since he is so self obsessed, every other god must be equally self obsessed. Perhaps such a God will even say to you, "Don't go after that other god- - he opperates out of corrupt motives", when in truth this just a case of his projecting his own guilt. Of course were you to start with God afresh, every experiance you had with him would be a new and learning experiance. If you know pastors you know their deepest, darkest fear is that a congragate might actually learn something. Because if a pastor's congragation actually learns something there is a chance they might one day be smarter than their pastor. Also they would have to apply the same standards to their own religious experiances that they demand of others, that they "look with a critical eye" upon ANY experiance. Since so much of religion is built on the idea of post hypnotic suggestion, pastors would instantly lose an awful lot of their power. And the lay person just might discover like John Lennon did, that he doesn't need God at all to be happy and that would be just awful!

Some may say "what about man's evil impulses that need to be restrained"? We all know about the tiger in the zoo that has twice gotten away and attacked people. We know that tigers look dosile when they know they are caged but if oppertunity ever strikes they will revert to their old natures. I guess my question is if our whole religious "experiance with God" should be one of being "restrained" by him. Why cope endlessly with a god who sees your entire existance as some big mistake? You know people point to the book of Judges as an era where may sank to his lowest depeths. And yet Samuel in his warnings about not being able to trust King Saul said the entire idea of a king was inherently evil and you people don't know how good the old days really were untill they're gone. John Locke is a person who taught tha man was inherently good. Thom Hartman holds it as a matter of religious "faith" that Intelligent design is a lie. I'm not ready to take THAT leap of faith yet, though I'm getting closer with each passing day. Some may say that capitalism is bad but I say that Adam Smith was not far wrong and that if capitalism were left to its purist free market nature things would "work out" amazingly well, without corporate rules. The Federation has pointed out (and Thom Hartman has also stated this- ) that a lot of big corporations didn't get their power from out of the Blue. They got it from some sort of corporate Fasciest state. Many people don't know how "corporate" fascism is. It would seem Musselini actually had corporate heads rather than elected citizens, as members of his parliament. The Federation has pointed out that perhaps patents would not be honored. If you came up with a good idea somebody might steal it. The rejoinder to this is "Better to steal a Good idea than a Bad idea, and religion is a Bad idea. It would not be the worst thing in the world to let "market forces" that conservatives value so highly, to set the prices of competing goods and determine whether a certain idea was really "all that good" or not. Or course the Federation only applies this "free market" idea of patents to outside competing cultures. They have their own "State Secrets". But their reasoning is, that since it takes enlightened intelligence to come up with any working idea, particularly a vast improvement, it's never a bad idea to have "competetion for enlightenment". St. Paul said the same thing about preaching the Christian gospel in the Bible. He said that others would compete with you, perhaps even out of spiteful motive, in on-upping you on preaching the Gospell. But this whole idea of "motives" in doing something only becomes a major issue when the THING DONE itself is of questionable merit. Nobody attacks another person for out-giving them to a charity. (Selah)

Some may question what would happen with agression and bullies. Just yesterday a black man in a wheel chair got angry at this new guy for mistreating a long time female resident. Loyalty is the karmic fruit of good deeds. The truth even the Bible agrees with at times, is that there are more good people than evil people- - and when evil is brought to light- - the good people will rally around to eliminate it. This is why the notion of "Do not resist one who is Evil" spoken by Jesus, has never sat well with me. Even Jesus had an errant teaching now and then. Many evil people are artificially empowered- - -perhaps by a corporate fasciest state. There are various evil people in my life who have been "empowered" by certain other influential people in my life. The asshole from El Paso is a person who would have been far less dangerous to me, had it not been for certain people (one of whom is dead now) who empowered him. If we let the "free market" take care of morality and retrobution, it's just conceivable things may not turn out as bad as you think. You may point to stories like "Lord of the flies" or the Stanford Prison experiment where people sometimes give vent to their evil. Liberals are always talking about "psychoanalyzing terrorists". Do you mind if a psychoanalyze a tiger? At times a part of me feels gratified any time a member of the human community "gets it" from an animal. We don't know what "shit" that tiger has had to endure from his master over the years. Don't you think that tiger is entitled to have "issues"? If human and animal had equal access to our court system to sue each other for unjustified injuries, who do you think would be awarded favorible judgement in most cases? Look at the sharks and those Chinese who cut off their fins and leave them to drown. When there are perhaps nine or ten deaths world wide a year from sharks.

Some like on that Bones show last night say you can psycho-analyze a person from their writings and by their handwriting, kind of like tea leaves. I'm never found this a satisfactory method of determining who wrote which NT book in the Bible and I don't think it's good evidence- - if you have better evidence like getting to meet the actual person and know them and see how they govern their lives and how they face challenging situations. Some may see the story of Zachery in my writings and assume I have a messiah fixation. But if one views the totality of all my writings and go back even to teenage and childhood years if you can, you will know that in September 1976 this whole baby-messiah thing was a highly alien one, and even after this date all the other imaginary people in my existance went on with their lives with no need of any Messiah. People - - shrinkos- - seem to disregard that people actually pick up alien things from their environment and incorporate them from time to time- - and not every syllable ever written comes from deep in the subconscious. The Federation has spoken of these people, "We do awful things to people who try to psycho-analyze us". If you psychoanalized all the New Testiment people in the Bible you could come up with all sorts of things if you wanted to.

I guess what I am in favor is a state of rigidly enforced- - - Fairness. You know the saying: Life isn't fair. This means of course that God isn't fair because everything that happens is predestined. If you go to talk to God about things you see as problems he'll go "What problem? I don't see any problem". God's idea of handeling problems is to ignore them. After if he had wanted the problem not to exist he wouldn't have created it in the first place. And since there is "no problem" - - God ipso facto- - never has any complaint about people being out of his Will, because they never are. Gene Scott has stated "Once you're in God's will it's harder to get out of God's will than it is to stay in it". There is a perverse truth here. There are probably people who if it were put to a vote would go for a super-hero like Superman, rather than "Jesus Christ Superstar". I know this- - I have seen Christianity more from the inside than most people of the world have. You've heard that expression "If they could see the side of you I see every day they'd never say the things about you they do". John Lennon said Christianity would "vanish and shrink". I just don't see how it's possible for Christianity to last the century and I really believe we'll be seeing the end of it within fifty years. After the war in the 2030's which the Federation walls "World War IV" for some odd reason, people will see the abject horror and ecological disaster of war- - and it will probably be caused by ecological problems to begin with. Federation teaching says that in the early 2040's a "new kind of" spiritual revival will take place here on earth. Circumstances have tested my Faith- - and pretty much destroyed it. When everybody else has the same experiance I have had, the chickens will truely be coming home to roost on Christianity. Christianity has yet to really be "tested" by the Modern World so far. But we know that major World Wars throughout the history have fundamentally "changed" both sides in the conflict. People who "learn" things come to embrace the new and disregard that which doesn't work. Dr. Dean Edell says "People will cling to an old product- - even one that doesn't work". But they don't go on forever. Behold, a time After Forever is approaching.

Randi Rhodes has stated that this Democratic Congress passed some "thought police" anti-terrorism bill that controls so many aspects of the behavior of a free citizen such as organizing and protesting the government. Even bastions of the right wing are not safe such as religious beliefs and gun clubs and "Anti Globalists", or people who resist the New World Order, Bush Sr. was so fond of talking about. Randi says "When they come after you right wingers- - I'll be the only friend you can turn to because I'll defend your right to be different". Apparently it was a near unanamus vote of congress. Of course there is the whole bit about people not getting proper medical care in this country like that seventeen year old girl who needed a liver and was denied one. I suppose the corporations will somehow be exempt from all these new fasciestic rules that have just been instituted by congress. Just how does that work. Does Dick Chaney hand them a "get out of jail" card or something? It's kind of like Calvary Chapel Christianity. You may not be sure who all the insiders are but THEY know who they are. Just how they achieved the status as insiders, perhaps Randi Rhodes can tell us.

Getting the Christmas Spirit

Mit Romney doesn't have the Christmas spirit. He wants to cut taxes for the rich to virtually nothing. He thinks the rich are still overtaxed and that people shouldn't have to pay any money on dividend income. He says corporations pay 40% in taxes, which apparently is also the figure that Japanese corporations pay in Japan. In China the rate is 33%. Thom Hartman has stated that rather than 40% US corporations pay seven or eight percent of their income in taxes. There is a discrepency here. If Scrooge were alive today, he and Mit Romney would be kindred spirits, because both have this idea that levying taxes on the rich to aid the poor is wrong.

Today is December 19th. and I'm feeling a little mentally weighed down. I’ve found it hard to get into the Christmas spirit this year as you know. Maybe they need to adjust my medication or something. For the first time in perhaps years we are actually just above the "normal" rainfall for the year. There are hints of more rain to come.

Of course people are wondering as they go to Christmas Eve services next week, “How can they light a candle for peace on earth with the world in the state it’s in”? If I were a preacher I’d try to feed you a bunch of bullshit. The answer is that each and every one of us needs to work for peace on earth every day. And we can do this by being kind to our neighbor and everyone we meet, like the song says. We need to wish people we don’t know a Merry Christmas. But one thing our leaders need to work on is this whole torture thing. Thom Hartman says that torture just does not work. That Al Qaida guy we thought we got information from from waterboarding- - it turns out that we got all the good information before we began water boarding, and from them on the information we got rapidly deteriorated. This is what happens. People will admit to anything to be done with the torture. Thom says that the Romans only tortured people after they were convicted of a crime and not before. How Cardassian of them. I’ll comment further on this later. People use torture according to Hartman, not to gain the information but to instill terror in the population at large. If everybody knows a neighbor who was arrested and tortured they will think twice about doing whatever it was they were going to do. Of course Jews were tortured in the Nazi era. One Jewish woman says she owes her life to the fact that people who knew of her father while he was being hidden from the authorities did not rat him out but held their tongue, even unto death. This is what a brave people do. On the other hand Hartman says that the Germans who were captured by our forces sang like song birds because they knew which side their bread was buttered on and they had sided with the wrong country in the war. George Washington treated captured “hetian” mercenaries (Germans) hired by the British with kindness and later they became the most loyal of American citizens. There is still a place for Christian charity in this world. And as the Bible says “By being kind to your enemy you shall heap burning coals upon his head”. (Maybe that’s a bad example)

People blame the democrats in congress for getting nothing done this year. And yet there have been 63 filibusters held by republicans to hold up badly needed measures to help out the American public. This is needed legislation that’s already in many cases passed the house but it’s only the log-tight jam in the senate blocking it. This level of 63 filibusters is approximately double the rate of the next highest record of 61 for two years in 2002. Back then republicans were threatening the “nuclear option”. I don’t know why they don’t revive that talk now and dust off the regulations and put them in force. Can’t they just take a vote and abolish the filibuster? Of course in the old days with Jimmy Stewart in the movies you actually had to keep talking during a filibuster and not “yield the floor” but they’ve done away with all that formality.

One of the ideas whose time appears to have come is single payer medical insurance. I’m not totally sold on the idea but I agree the current system sure as hell isn’t working. There is a 25% administrative overhead factor. This of course is besides the high profits the drug companies are making in this country alone. Many have suggested that we need “consumerism” in the medical field. People should use discretion in deciding whether or not to have that needed operation. Can they perhaps wait a year or two on that pancreatic cancer until the prices drop or they have a sale or something? Obviously people don’t have that sort of relation with their doctors, even if they do use the internet a lot. Hartman has said that medical insurance and health is so important it’s an area where society needs to pool its sources and “share the risk” among everybody. Again I’m not totally sold on this. Before Halloween of 1997 it had been years, if not decades before I had seen a doctor. I don’t necessarily think avoiding a doctor is going to kill you. But life expectancy is getting longer as “the bar” continues to be raised on what constitutes good health. Yesterday’s behavior is unacceptable today.

People are wondering whether George Bush is a war criminal. Now it seems that the aid to Mucasey is also hedging on whether he thinks water-boarding is torture. Of course Hartman pointed out that one reason why they destroyed the tapes is because they would have had to admit that torture didn’t do the job advertised. I still disagree with Hartman on an awful lot and none more strenuously than public financing of campaigns. I think it would be an awful idea. Hartman says that perhaps if they had laws about who could say what during a campaign that the Swift Boat people never would have come out against John Kerry. I am inclined in this case to “eat the chicken and throw away the bones” metaphorically speaking. I accept what they say about what John Kerry did in battle, but I do not go along with their editorial remarks about betraying our POW’s afterward. I think candidates need to be exposed to mud slinging because this prepares them for the real job of being President, which isn’t all flowers and rainbows. If the average church pastor had to fight as hard for his job as a politician, we’d have a lot tougher, and may I say “worthy” lot of them than we have now, where the spectre of the hot house orchid Christian is alive and well. I’m sticking with Huckibee myself because I think he’s the best candidate in my party running. Among the democrats Obama is starting to look better to me. If he “finds his bearings” like Jack Kennedy did and hits his stride at the right time, he just might go far in this race.

I wanted to take up again this idea of Roman Empire torture only after convicted. As you remember the crowd wanted Jesus crucified. Pilate’s response at one point was to say “I shall have him flogged and set him free”. There was a punishment in Rome called the “Roman half-death”. Contrary to what Chuck Smith preaches, they were not “examining the prisoner” for information. Pilate offered the people this penalty because they wanted to see a little blood. I was just thinking, if all of Jesus disciples left him at the time of his betrayal as shown by the words, “All of you will run away and leave me tonight” and also by the words on the O T “strike the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered- - and I will turn my hand upon the little ones”. I believe the story of Peter in the Bible “following Jesus from afar” was put in not because Peter was the most craven of the disciples but rather because he was the bravest, just as he was in attempting to follow Jesus in walking on the water”. It’s a case of “Et tu Peter”. Even Peter fell. If this is so I wonder how we could no whether if Jesus was crucified at all because all of the disciples had left town. The gospels, which are pretty united about what happened at the last supper and in the garden and during Jesus’ trial, now suddenly diverge. The only thing we get from some was that Jesus “wondered why God had forsaken him”, and someone gave him some gall on a sponge, fulfilling scripture, “they gave me gall for my wounds”. Others being in all sorts of things. Some say that Jesus’ whole life was kind of a parrellel of Sacrates and his philosophy a parrellel of Plato. Others, like that Italian remind us that Nazareth was not a city build on the edge of a cliff by a lake, any more than Pasadena is a beach city. There are parrellels in the names of Jesus’ brothers to “John son of Judas of Galilee”. The Christmas story is akin to the birth legond of Mithraism, god of Persia, and later by Rome. “Myth” is Greek for “Word” and Jesus was called the “Word”. I have said that after Jesus disappeared from Isrial he went to Egypt and what do you know? Both Matthew and Mark originated in Egypt. Scripture says “by his stripes (last marks) we are healed”. Why didn’t they say “nail prints”? None of the four resurrection accounts agree with any other account. Merry Christmas!
