Karzai - Thumbs Up On Women's Rights

Hammid Karzai said today that this roomer that has been going around about a deal between the Obama administration and the Talliban to make peace at the price of denying women their hard earned rights- - is nonsense. Karzai says he was shocked at the recent stonings of women, and I believe him. Karzai appears to want to Westernize his country in a more progressive direction. He does however want these private “security contractors” out of his country by the end of the year. Apparently this “phase out” will actually be taking place. He says that these outfits in the name of some vigilante pursuit of justice and “routing out corruption” in his government has arrested people in the dead of night and sought to ship them off somewhere like Russia used to do. He personally intervened in a case involving one of his close aids. To me he seems like a reasonable man. The issue was raised whether members of these “security” groups might join the Talliban is they were forced to disband and Karzai said that made absolutely no sense. He said something about “If they’re that messed up they shouldn’t have been working for the United States”. ABC news wants us to know however that US troops are personable and recognize you by face, and they know the good guys from the bad guys. At least that’s what they would dearly like you to believe.

The credit card provisions of last years bill went into effect today bringing welcome changes for customers. If they raise your rates they have to give you notice, and they have to reconsider the move if it’s seen as no longer necessary after six months. Your penalty cannot exceed the infraction. So if your infraction is two dollars they can’t charge you $35.00 but a maximum of two dollars. Apparently certain penalties are limited to $35.00. They can’t charge you multiple penalties for the same infraction any more. Of course many synics out there out there will note that there is nothing in this legislation which prevents credit card companies from conjuring altogether new charges to lay on you. Some libertarians might say that it’s a communist conspiracy to even step in and regulate credit card companies at all. They would say “If you don’t like the service of one bank, then go to another”. Actually it is hard to argue with this logic. Loose credit is what caused all our economic problems to begin with and a “slap down” by the bank may cramp your style, but may in the end force you to be more careful.

Last night I reread those two articles in Astronomy CafĂ©. One was on those fourteen Grim Facts about the Universe. First and foremost, even empty space is not empty. Other statements are made such as the brain controls the “energy environment” of matter. They say three percent of your body is made up of quarks, which is a lot more than I figured. The rest of it is pure energy. So let me get this straight - - 97% of the weight of your body is comprised by energy. They said if you had enough brain power you would meld yourself into a wall because “there is no scientific reason why that should not be possible. Perhaps you can lead me to Wayne Dyer’s padded cell. But also the statement amazed me that “If there were no gravitational fields, there would be no time”. Obviously people in weightless environments don’t suspend people in time so I’m puzzled. Another thing was suggestive of something I had already put in a blog. They said that gravitational fields can ONLY be properly described in four dimensions and not three. As you know I introduced the concept of “deep time” and “shallow time”. We also seem to have the possibility based on that Excel formula that these newtron star gravity wells can emcompass time going back hundreds of billions of years. You may say to me, “but the Universe is not that old”. Thus we have the concept originally aired by Gene Scott that “the past” is something that can be “created” after the fact.

Time Magazine has that stars and stripes in the shape of an Islamic crescent, and the heading was Islama-phobia. But we have worse than a phobia, what we have in this country is outright bigotry and hatred, of a type that would not be acceptable against any other group, not Latinos, not Blacks and not even gays. This whole thing with the community center is such a petty complaint to provide a rationalization for this hatred of an entire religion with 1.3 Billion followers world wide. George Bush himself espressly said we were not at war with the Islamic community. But today's Republican main stream is way to the right of George Bush. I had ABC’s “This Week” on and it consisted of two lengthly segments. One was a Jewish woman as one guest, and also the wife of that Sufi Islamic leader who wants to build the community center. This center will have things ranging from classes to swimming lessons to bereavement meetings. Actually it's kind of an Islamic version of the Y M C A. I went to Y M C A camp as a kid and I was never indoctrinated. There was some American history about the British banning Synagogue construction here. As to the remark about the US being an “accessory” to the crime of 9-11, he was referring to the long term CIA support of the Talliban in the 1980’s. I hope Newt and the gang figured that one out. People twist words so readily today and they don't listen to things in context. Yes, the CIA really was funding the Talliban. Don't you believe that ever happened? It did. Also it should be pointed out that the Koran is not Sheria law. From what I have heard lately, Sheria law is not consistent but varies from country to country. So it's rather silly to talk about Churches having Koran burning parties on 9 - 11. When you burn another religion's Holy book, what do you call it if not hatred?

Here is something to think about. They say in the Psalms that “If I make my bed in the grave- - Thou art there”. If so it means that the vision of Hell as “total separation from God” can’t be true. But some would say “We know God is everywhere but what you lose forever is your awareness of God’s presence”. OK right there I have you because I have wearied myself looking for some clear “evidence” of God’s actions in my life and haven’t come up with anything. And ponder this- - people might point to something like my living here and being on welfare as “God’s provisions”. I have just one thing in response to say to that. Any positive act of God has brought to pass has to pass the “is it something I could brag about to other Christians” test. Capish?

Of course we still have the same stories ad nausium in the news. It’s been all bad eggs and bed bugs- - and now they aren’t limited to a few states, they’ve gone international. They replayed the same article from NBC Nightly news the next morning on the Today show. We should be thankful, we’re told that there are no serious diseases associated with them. I watched the Mc Laughlin report. Today Pat Buchannon was back, bellering about the Mosque at ground zero. He played the lone wolf today with nobody to back his strident opinion. Monica was absent and some liberal Oriental looking guy was in her place. At seven it was “Malcolm in the Middle”. Then I switched to the end of that Auto Race on ABC. No I don’t remember who won. After this it was aimless dial twirling the rest of the night not watching one station that long. And it wasn’t that long because there was nothing on and I remember making preparations for bed at five to nine. Fortunately the nights continue to cool off nicely. Of course they’re saying this heat wave will intensify as the week progresses.

In the morning I had the Today show on. They were discussing vegetable juice “cleanses” to rid the body of toxins. They say “they don’t have enough calories - - and they lack protein to sustain any regular diet”. After this they had what white wine to drink depending on how hot the thermometer read, becoming lighter and lighter. That’s another way to “cleanse” your body. We had Rice Krispies for breakfast and a fried egg that was well cooked (good health move) and toast with butter and jelly. I had Brenda’s orange juice, and Laurie had Andrew’s, though later he showed up. I watched the 2nd half of Chris Matthews and “Meet the Press”. You know if these talking heads want to do something we’d all love, they’d have six months of reporter’s predictions made at the end of these shows, so we can see who’s right and who screwed up badly. John Mc Laughlin says his prediction was that “in the end Rod Blagoiavitch walks”.

On Regaining Respectability

Thirty-two years ago the Rolling Stones came out with the song “Respectable”. Respectability is something we should all be striving for. That means both moral as well as intellectual respectability. I know I’m never going to be a “George Washington’s Blog” but at the same time I know that I need to have my facts down pat because if people sense a lot of mooshiness or “play” in my intellectual steering wheel, they will cease to regard what I say and my writings will be dismissed and set aside and I won’t be any the wiser. Today is the warmest day we have had all week. The news is kind of in an endless loop rerun with the same stories being talked about near obsessively by Stephanie Miller and Randy Rhodes. Among the few new items are the Authorities closing down those drag races out in the desert because eight people were killed in last weekend’s accident. Naturally if you weren’t one of the ones killed you wonder what all the fuss is about. After all these is kind of a doctrine of “implied concent” otherwise known as common horse sense in attending that kind of a race and standing in such close proximity. If people go through life knowing that “actions have consequences” and are at peace with the “sensible risks” they are willing to take in life, then the nanny state Government will not have to step in and micro-manage our lives. They have commenced furlough days in state offices. I need to get to the Department of Motor vehicles because my license has expired and also I think it’s high time I switched affiliations from the republican to the democratic party. That enchanted cat is in the news again. This is the cat that snuggles up to people in convalescent hospitals and the cat in this way has been amazing in foretelling the next patient to die. Prior to this I had always heard that a cat was one animal that would not hang around the home of someone why is dying. Well, somebody is wrong. Today I had a diet cherry-cola and guess what- - after forty years those things still taste like bourbon. Tomorrow is the day that Iran’s reactor goes on line and it appears I was wrong about Israel bombing the facility before that happens. I don’t think it hurts to mention a “probability” or hunch, even if it turns out to be wrong. Cops pursue hunches all the time- - and quite often they pay off.

Back when I was in elementary school, when they still chizzled on stone tablets, they had something called “American Heritage” which was instituted by the local school board. My feeling about it was “history is history- - why give it a fancy name”. Then five or so years later, when my politics had moved considerably to the left, there was a song on the radio “The Green Barrettes”. Personally I regarded the song ad evil incarnate propaganda from the other side. All that stuff about “Put silver wings on my son’s chest- - after I die” so he can follow in my footsteps. All went well for a number of years until the Viet Nam war ended in early 1973. Then we had all those prisoners of war returning from North Viet Nam. I was hoping they’d be filled with communist propaganda and say how humanly they were treated and all. Instead they just talked about how wonderful it was to be back in America with old glory waving in the breeze. And then America went through the post Watergate malaise and finally as 1984 dawned and Reagan announced it was “Morning in America” – we had the Olympics in LA and there was to me an almost gingoistic return of the American spirit. Actually the whole thing with our athletes winning in the Olympics became conflated with Ronald Reagan’s reelection campaign. But Ronnie Baby may just owe that election victory to Jimmy Carter. Because if Carter hadn’t pulled the US out of the 1980 Olympics (a move the Republicans were against) than Moscow wouldn’t have pulled out in 1984, a move that was actually predicted in my 1980 prophecy book. I didn’t like Oliver North testifying before congress. I have a low regard for psychopathic liars who say, “I confess – Ronald Reagan is responsible for everything”. Oliver North betrayed both his President and his country. And then we come to 1991. I remember contemplating going to a pro life rally down the street in late January. But when I saw all the people wearing “Operation Desert Storm” shirts and hats, suddenly I felt out of place and I went on back home. It was on a Saturday in May, perhaps on Armed Forces Day, they had a big blow-out military parade down Sunset Blvd. which celebrated Bush 41’s version of “Mission Accomplished”. It was a nice, easy little engagement that sure boosted Bush 41’s standing in the polls, at least for a little while. And then we have September 11, 2001 - - and what I guess I regarded as a sporadic disease now became an ongoing chronic condition. Now suddenly out president’s words were like Holy Writ handed down from on high. And that leads us to yesterday when President Obama announced that the combat engagement in the Iraq theater was now completed. The troops were really going home and jubilantly celebrating. And this is fitting, if he’s really happening. Somehow I doubt this. This is one area where I wouldn’t mind being wrong one bit, but we are so war obsessed in this country- - I don’t think we can live without it. President Obama has of his own volition made himself into a War President. And he’s committed thusly. We still have 50,000 troops in Iraq. People say that anytime we leave there will be a bloodbath. So naturally we’re looking for signs, the slightest hint of turmoil. And when we find it we will end out planned withdrawal and jump right in with both feet. That’s how I see it.

Franklin Graham says that President Obama was born a Muslim because his father was a Muslim. Being Muslim is not like being of the Jewish people. There is no assumed limiage either passed on through the mother (as in Judaism) or by the father. Islam is a religion of faith and profession - the first of the "Five Pillars". Islam is a religion of faith and not of race. To even have to mention these things is almost an insult to the intellect. Franklin Graham has lost intellectual respectability. They say a substantial percentage of the American People, more if you're a republican, believes that President Obama is Muslim and not a Christian.

In the song “Dogs” by Pink Floyd, there is a line “- - and it’s too late to lose the weight you used to need to throw around”. Somehow I think of Rush Limbaugh when I hear this line. In the movie “All About Eve” I think it’s Bette David that engages in a bit of philosophizing thusly, “You know, you have to be careful who you walk all over on your way up the carrier ladder, because you’ll meet the same people again on your way down”. This is good advice. What goes around comes around- -and the golden rule is a good principle to live by. One of David’s sons, Absolem, turned against him and waged Civil War against him. And it looked as if David’s troops were done for. Absolem’s chief counselor, Ahithaphel (played by Jim Morrison in my movie version) gave Absolem the good advice to strike while the iron was hot and to pursue David’s troops. But David’s side somehow tricked Absolem by “turning” an aid of Ahithaphel against his own side. And this aid was sent back to Absolem and told Absolem “Thy servant Ahithiphel sent me to tell you to halt the pursuit because you need the time to get the people on your side, that your cause may prevail”. In this way Ahithaphel’s sound advice was circumvented. Absolem listens and halted and David’s side regrouped and came back to beat the hell out of him. David’s general, Joab (somehow I always picture Deforrest Kelly from Startrek) slew Absolem as his long hair got caught in a low hanging bough as he rode his horse and Joab slew Absolem. David mourned for his lost son to such a great extent that Joab came to him and said “I get the feeling you would rather that our whole army lost the battle, if I could bring back your son to you alive”. As such Joab has a bad rep for being an overly bloodthirsty general in many Sunday ser-mons. This is an assessment I disagree with in that Joab was only good at doing his job.

And now our geeky science corner. People with an education in the field of special relativity understandably take exception by my little “looking glass” chart and want mathematical justification accepted by others. Let me offer the following side step. I was talking about a relationship to an alltogether imaginary but theorized entity. This entity would be such an unknown that their relation to us or us to them cannot be quantified. It would be like talking about a relation between ourselves and the Cardassians. (No, I didn't know Cardassian was an Armenian name.) I know the actual formula for addition of volicities and have performed numerous experiments with various numbers on this in Excel. At the risk of excessive detail let’s just say certain “things” become apparent. For instance 100 plus 0 remains 100. But 100 plus one equals 1. In fact any number plus 1 including 1 always yields a sum of 1, or the speed of light. A whole number added to a sub-light speed number will yield a number greater than one. A whole number added to another number greater than one will always yield a sub-light or less than one number. Two equal numbers will always yield a smaller sum than a great big number and a little bitty number. The bigger the first number is, the more adversely the second number- whatever it is- - will affect it. What we can conclude from all this is that- - I am not the only one who somehow invisions “small numbers” on the hyper-space side of the ledger. Not only this but it would appear that numbers can become negative by huge factors of a hundred or more. Carried out logically it would mean that masses can go negative and time can run backwards- - - really fast out in “La – la” land. Of course I “Jail Broke” Einstein’s formula because you “aren’t supposed to use this formula with anything greater than one”. When Apple owns the right to Einstein’s works I’ll start to worry. In terms of time going backward- - I used certain terms in recent postings where I showed, shall we say, a lack of discretion. I used terms such as “light dragging” and “light chasing”. You all may have seen the cartoon where Sylvester goes over the water fall and then tweety bird turns off the flood gates and Sylvester is now desperately trying to climb up the vanishing supply of water. I’d like to reintroduce the terms “fast light” and “slow light”. “fast light” is red shifted and “slow light” is blue shifted. Now if you are listening to a radio transmission from red shifted light- - the message will be really slowed down. If you equal the speed of light the message will freeze and should you exceed the speed of light- - hypothetically you’ll hear the message begin to go backwards the other way. It’s that time “slows down” in telescope (red shifted) light or “speeds up” in (blue shifted) Christmas ornament light- - even here on earth if you’re looking at people thusly distorted in vertical (front to back) space- - it looks like time is sort of slowing down. If you are in a space ship that is headed from east to west- - you will see nothing or not our kind of “space” ahead of you. You will be in that hyperbola kind of Universe. And hyperbolas will always trail you in "actuality" but in appearance the hyperbolic view will be in front, to the west. Being out of our ether what is ahead of you will be in that hyper-space realm. You will look as if in a mirror to the west, ahead of you – and see the sky behind or to the east of you. And this image will indeed not only spacially mirrored but also time mirrored "chasing light" so you will see it in reversed time. But you will be looking west- - as I say, as if in a mirror ahead of view viewing objects behind you. If Leo Le Port is reading this I hope he benefits from this updated version of Saturday morning.

But if you are viewing from the ground stationary in our ether time won’t be reversed, so I want to clear that up. I’ll explain just a little more. Let’s say you’re on the ground and the space ship is moving west- - OK. The light starts off moving down and east but the ether wind blows it- - it’s a constant backward vector- - and blows it west. Think of it as a tail wind. Now you have one more question I’ll address right now. First of all tie time thing. Why doesn't time reverse? Because unlike our hypothetical "radio waves" example you aren't "chasing light". You're seeing sort of a mirror effect caused by the ether. And now your other question. And that is how does all this hyper-light speed satisfy Einstein's equation about the constancy of the speed of light? Think of the "scale" control in Sketch and you adjust the axis of travel gradually less and less and then the image becomes a single line and then the image gradually expands back into shape in a reversed image. First the image is squashed. Then it is normal (at twice the speed of light) and after this it becomes elongated in the reversed direction. In this manner we can manipulate the units of measurement. This should satisfy Einstein’s axiom “At all cost- - the speed of light must always be 186,000 mps.

Some Secrets Are Better Kept Than Told

Say what you want to about Nicole Walker. She may be a first rate whore- - but she isn't "easy". FBI agent Raphael Hernandez has got the bee in his bonnet that Nicole knows something really damaging about Elvis Di Mira son of Stephano Di Mira. And he is correct. Nicole has made multiple CD Roms of a conversation between Elvis and his father to the effect that Elvis kidnapped his own daughter and told the biological mother that the child was in grave danger and once led her to believe she had been murdered. He was very cruel to her. Now the mother and Elvis are contemplating nuptuals as the relation between them has improved markedly and she has her little girl back. Raphael decided the way to get to Nicole was to butter her up and tell her they are two of a kind and pointed to the relation between between Elvis and Samantha (the mother) as the undoing of them both, who were the losers. But Nicole wasn't biting. No matter how drunk he tried to get her to the point of falling down, she never let the big secret pass her lips, even though she had one of the CD's right there in her purse and Raphael never knew it. It's almost akin to David getting Uriah drunk and sending home from battle to have sex with his wife to cover up his own misdeeds. But Uriah kept his vow of celebecy on the battle field and slept on cushions on the front porch. The thing is that Nicole does not want to reveal her secret about Elvis because she's been paid the not insubstantial sum of five million- - dollars - in an off shore account. Also Elvis knows the reason why Nicole was snooping around the mansion to begin with is because she wanted to find out out if Elvis or Stephano had evidence against her in another crime. This one is of framing her ex boyfriend's lover for attempted murder with bogus DNA and help from a very unsavory doctor. If this fact ever came to light Nicole's name would be even uglier than it is. There is a saying among Taoists: Those who Say- - don't Know- -and those who Know- - - don't Say. I guess I don't know much because I like to blab a lot.

Dr. Laura, the shrink that has been gracing mid day talk shows for several decades, now has announced she will be going off the air in five months when her contract runs out. Laura says she wants to regain her right to "free speech" he has lost now, and says she wants to "be free to speak her heart". I don't think I want to know what that is. Personally I think Laura Slchlenger is a big drama queen blowing this apparent "dismissal" all out of proportion. She regards it as some sort of vast left wing conspiracy of the stations' sponsors and viewers. She used to be really good at what she did but she has become increasingly eccentric in her later years - making some really off the wall remarks.

Not only are all our young people overweight and having cholesterol problems at a young age, now we hear they are all going deaf from listening to I Pods day in and day out at volumes around eighty decebles. People don't exercise common sense. They talk about the fifteen hundred calorie burger- - well one of those isn't going to kill you- - for instance as your only meal of the day. People assume people eat these things all day long or something, and that would never happen. People complain about salads with anything but oil and viniger dressing on them. If you're going to get concerned, get bothered about their lack of government and civics knowledge. I would not let a sixteen year old vote. They let eighteen year olds vote in 1972 and they elected Richard Nixon. It was young people, like on the Wally George show, that put Ronald Reagan in the White House. Delaying voting just a bit has its dividends.

Thom Hartman wants to double social security payments to those over 65. This is because SS payments are below the $18,000 annual salary for the poverty level income. Hartman argues that having that extra money in circulation would have economic dividens and provide a degree of insilation from the recession. Actually the first thing we can do is lower the retirement age to sixty for starters and then try fifty-five. This will reduce the number of workers vying for the same job and will reduce stress in older workers who fear getting fired because they can no longer do the work. Removing that income level cap of a hundred thousand to pay in to the thing would to me be the most obvious solution to a whole host of problems. According to Hartman, once you stop buying "material things" like houses and cars, and instead start making "investments" perhaps in overseas accounts, then it's time to tax more of that money. There was a person on Hartman's show today who said that increased taxation of his $500,000 salary would reap an unnecessary hardship on his family. Give me a break!

I would now like to do additional rumination about what hyper light speed would be like and how it would be perceived, about which I wrote last night. We all know about how they like to watch drag races in close quarters in the Lucerne Valley in the desert. But now suppose a car were racing down the road faster than the speed of light and it was dangeling ropes. And one of these ropes brushed up against you. Now as the car continued to speed along the rope would continue to brush up against you. (ropes are going off in all directions) This is a very long rope. Now the question is- - is where the rope first touched you the first or last time that an “outraying of light” would come in contact with you. Picture little lights in the ropes and all the lights are moving at uniform speed all out tword the ends of the ropes. Would the light closest to the car be the first or last light emitted? It would be the last. All the other spots along the rope would have been emitted first. But the light that was closest to the end of the rope and hence first sent, would be the last one to touch you. This is a graphic demonstration of the principle that you would indeed view all such “transmissions” in backwards sequence.

I would now like to cover another example that may have popped into some viewer’s minds. They say “You overly complicated the image about hyper light speed”. They would say “Just look at this star constellation- - and all the stars in this constellation are light-years apart. But if a light source traveled from two such stars separated by vast distances in short order, like say a half hour- this would be amazing and prove hyper-light speed was achieved.” I will concede that for instance- - an object traveling from left to right and now just right of your meridian- - would still be visible. But for instance- -an object traveling ten times the speed of light would not be visible at an eight to one “Sine” angel of how-many degrees. Maybe twenty. The further away you yourself were from the constellation- - the farther out front the actual object would be in the present tense.. Because light takes time to travel a longer distance but to you the viewer the angle would become smaller. I will repeat that light can never exceed 186,000 miles per second. Remember from previous postings that sub light forms round “Universes” and super-light-speed forms hyperbolic Universes. These are Universes obviously that go mainly one direction, and virtually zero in the opposite direction.

The mathematical model on the previous post is what I call the “through the looking glass” approach. Each side of the looking glass views the one on the other side as in some alien dimension. The speed of light is a denotation of zero on our chart. At a positive one on our chart light has slowed down considerably. The speed of light slows to 10,111 miles per hour at an exponent of .76. I was surprised by this figure myself. Those of you wondering about the whole log and hyperbolic tangent thing, here’s what happens on each side of log zero. What I do is flip-flop the numbers on the other side of zero. I’ll do this after dinner. If we take that 10,111 figure and [subtract it from] the speed of light we get [176,000] miles per second. That’s how it works. Dividing with two renders a log of .94 and a devisor of 120,173 or about half the speed of light so our final figure would be [66,000] - - miles per second. On the positive side of the ledger this is how we do the math. On the negative side of the ledger where the demarcations are -1 and -2 for instance, we do it differently. A negative one is viewed in hyperspace as twice the speed of light and a -2 is seen as three times the speed of light as seen from hyperspace. We use the log figures to deduce the speed as seen in sub light space. We get rid of the negative tangents and make them positive. The .76 figure renders our 10111 [subtracted from] light speed for our [176,000] miles per second. And at the -2 figure we get our [66,000] miles per second, modeling the math from above, only switched around. Eventually we get close to a log one, [186,000 subtracted from 186,000] and get zero (mps.). Perhaps you are thinking that all this would work out much better if we used subtraction rather than division because we would end up with zero and not one. That’s a very good point. At that rate at negative one we would have the speed of light less the figure of 10,111 or about 176,000 mps. I can live with that. We can do it. The figure at either two or negative two would be about 166,000 miles per second. OK. The point is for each side to see the other as “the other side of the looking glass” and to see the speed of light itself AS the looking glass. Capish?

Blagoiavitch Verdict Nearly a Complete Dud

The jury in the Blagoiavitch case, close to being hung on about all charges, finally issued a verdict of conviction on one charge and that was making false statements to the government. He says “I talk too much”. It was on the fourteenth day of jury deliberation. He now faces a prison sentence of five years. Blagoiavitch is one figure I considered excessively vilified. In his famous speech in January he said that the matter could have been resolved much sooner if he were allowed to call quite a number of witnesses in his own behalf. The Republicans are desperate to find fault with any democrat. My guess is - - that there won’t be a retrial on the other charges since this trial took so painfully long. Basically, considering the original number - - twenty-four – that’s a lot- - of charges, the “case” could be deemed a failure. We know that as far as people in the Bush administration, the term “term deflation” is apt. Just to refresh your memory, Bill Clinton was accused of lying in a grand jury deposition. The American people decided that he should not suffer so much as a repermand from congress. In fact it could be argued that Clinton’s most productive years with that Republican congress were in those final two years. People such as Gene Scott and Dennis Prager believe that Clinton ought to receive a medal for his sexual exploits. As to the idea of selling an office, we know that “horse trading” goes on all the time in congress and nobody says a thing about it. It’s only in these flook cases that it even comes to one’s attention.

The big news of the day is that a three judge panel put an end to gay marriages once and for all. The long arm of Divine Sovereignty came down and whacked these gay protagonists. Now they will have to wait months if not years. People are disappointed and were all geared up for Wednesday. It was an unanticipated move on my part. It would seem as if the Circuit Court isn’t the pushover many all thought it was. There is obviously the human factor of disappointment. One can hardly expect the sexual inclionations of these people to turn around on a dime. But it does prove the addage, "Just because you spend time thinking about something doesn't mean you get it", no matter what Wayne Dyer says. Perhaps this ruling can serve as a cold shower to wake these people up so that they realize what they are doing. By this one ruling it may well foreshadow how the higher courts will rule when they hand down their final decision on this case.

The Republicans really do want to sabotage this economy so that it's good and screwed by the 2012 election. The things they advocate like "belt tightening" will utterly insure that. They keep saying that we will use inflation to cure our debt problem. False. They say that the national debt will double in the next five years and tripple in the next ten years. They say that the Obama Health Care plan "takes over one sixth of the US economy. This is very false. One should not expect their talking points to diverge much in the upcoming two years since these lies ans "thought viruses" have worked so well for them already. The best thing we democrats can hope for is some new event to come up out of the blue that the Republicans are utterly unprepared for.

Suicide, as heinous a sin as it is, is not one of the Seven Deadly Sins that Catholics are admonished to keep away from. But Dante agrees that suicides occupy one of the hottest circles of hell. I think one can safely say that the hottest places in Hell ought to be reserved for those who commit one or multiple murders and then comit suicide before they can be brought to justice. Indeed we know right off that cowardess ought to be added to the list of charges. If there is such a crime as “evasion” this, too, would be tacked on. Is there ever a case where suicide is a justifiable act? My philosophy as you know is that we can’t judge others until we have walked a mile in their shoes. It just might be that people who “feel” forsaken and unloved actually ARE these things but only THEY have the cajones to actually admit this dark truth. A phrase was used today on the soap opera. There is a conversation ongoing and one person says “Why do I suddenly feel that a curtain was just closed?” People DO these things in conversations and will go to any extreme to lie about what they just did. One thing suicide would achieve is to “lift that curtain”. It’s like taking sand out of the umpire’s eyes so he again is able to call balls and strikes for what they are. As such one is a position to expedite the disclosure of evil so that war might be successfully waged against it.

I'm sure there are a lot of bright scientists out there who have their own views of "dimensionality" and what form "alternate spacial forms" would take. It's certainly a topic on which I am open to new information. It was decades ago that I pondered the idea that in a hyper light frame of reference- -both sides of the Void view light as traveling at the same speed, which is of course 186,000 miles per second. Only with hyper light speeds there is a logarithmic or some other basis, perhaps hyperbolic tangents- - where infinitely fast is seen is stationary (stasis) and the further you veer from this infinite speed, the more you perceive that speed even exists. We could employ the hyperbolic tangent thusly. If the speed of light is reconed at log zero, we take the result and divide it into the speed of light. We can do this with (1) plus the speed of light or a 100% factor increase and we come up with .76 for our log figure and we use this figure to derive 186,000 ^ .76 at (1) the same way and this obviously renders a lower figure whenwe run it through our formula. As we keep doing this with three, four and five, using the hyperbolic tangent idea, eventually we come close to a log of one, and thus we'll be subtracting186,000 from 186,000 and getting zero or stationary. We can deduce a few elemental things about exceeding light speed by less than a factor of two. (at two you would theoretically have perfect scale mirror reversal) In case of approach we would view the BACK sides of objects in this Universe and as we sped up we could view as it were a sphere, which we were close to one edge of - but for optical reasons this edge would be to our rear. The image here seen would be telephoto or telescopic in attributes. As we broke light barrier we would appear to go through this edge. The view would be both horizontally reversed and TIME reversed. You would travel faster than light so light would be unable to keep up with you so you would be viewing light transmissions in reverse. Light would have a (negative) deficit speed much as a kid throwing a soft ball out of the rear window of a car traveling sixty miles an hour traveling through a vacuum and he throws the ball only forty mph so that the ball is actually traveling twenty mph forward.. Of course Special Relativity uses the "add hyperbolic tangents" formula but I wouldn't put to much in that fact. I have run the numbers with the original formula and you get some strange, if intriguing results. The figure for my purposes just seems "convienient". If you are worried about Einstein, the light speed would still be a constant - you would not only see the reverse side, but you could see action occuring backwards with inferential reversed mass. (I don't need to explain the mass deduction theorem do I?) It wouldn't be real but that's what a "technician" would infer. Capish? In this hypothetical world of mine there would be space- - but it would be in some kind of ultra-speed time frame where to be “normal” you had to travel at infinite speeds. But I was never able to quantify these theory into any mathematical formula.

On the soap opera a few days ago Victor said to Maggie Horton, “You know in Greece they say that to refuse a gift of the gods is the height of arrogant pride”. I find this interesting. Because as you know if you believe all the rap on Jesus Christ, he spent all of his time that we know about- - Giving. It was either material in terms of food, or else it was some sort of healing or deliverance from some demonic oppression. One wonders what happened to all of these people. There is virtually zero in the book of Acts talking or giving testimony to the miracles of Jesus. In fact the author of the book would seem never to have known of them. It is said that small kids are born with vivid imaginations but, like rising yeast dough, we beat and pound it out of them, till they are just like us. As you know I get particularly ticked off at people like Neil Savedra who teach that it’s a good thing to shun the gifts of the Holy Spirit, because in doing so you prove you are somehow better than those people are because you don’t “need” the gifts they have to be a good Christian. As to Thomas Jefferson’s excising of all the miraculous passages in the Gospels, I regard this as kind of the height of arrogance that “just because it hasn’t happened to you, you want to make everybody else just as limited as you are”. Clearly this philosophy has infected the church and caused a gradual but steady devolution of the “Spirituality” of the Church. Victor regarded this saying as justification for he, a married man, to have close relations with a recently widowed woman. This is something Neil Savedra would frown on. He believes that when you lose a love you ought to go through some period of mourning or “suffering” for an unspecified, but lengthly period of time.

The Second Governmental Shut-down

In late 1995 Newt Gingrich shut down government as part of some protest against what Clinton was doing. Everybody blamed the Republicans for it, too. Now government has ground to a halt again. Since the President's State of the Union address two weeks ago, nothing has gotten done. About all congress has done is to hold a few press conferences. You can't blame the snow storm for all of this. They tell me that congress plans to be in recess all week regardless of what the weather does. This is only a prelude to next week when congress will do its usual thing of extending a single holiday into a whole week off. President Obama says he wants to meet with Republicans in some televised summit on February 25th. But the Republicans want a pre condition of promacing that the nuclear option will not be used, and also that the President will abandon any hope of either the Senate or House health bills getting passed. The President has fallen badly in all the polls lately from a year ago. They say democratic ideas used to lead republican ideas by 35 points and now it's reduced to five points, and tied in some polls. One can blame the media and I blame the American people for being stupid. They're like sheep, being so easily led by anything the corporate owned media says they should believe. Tell me what has changed from a year ago since the people felt so fondly of their President. Nothing has changed. Except a year ago you didn't have these tea baggers. Their convention in Nashville had six hundred people in attendance and the media regarded it as a major convocation. Yet when hundreds of thousands used to routinely show up at left wing protests during the Bush administration protesting this or that policy, it got maybe a paragraph reference on page 28 or something. And the Democrats are buying into all this negativity too. You know on this soap opera I watch a couple of days ago a woman was worried about whether she would be physically able to give her future husband a child. She said something "But then again, the Christian faith is all about belief in miracles, isn't it? To my astonishment the priest said bluntly, "No, it is not what Christianity is all about". Well in today's episode she is pregnent. My point, and I could have cited many examples I have witnessed, is that Christians love to posture in church or from the pulpit about the things they say they believe in, but in their ordenary lives they don't base their OWN decisions on these beliefs. Were I Clowie, the woman, I would have shot back, "Christians don't believe in miracles? Are you telling me the resurrection of Jesus isn't a meracle? If people don't believe in a small miracle, how can they believe in a big one? (Selah)

So what do we do about all this negativity? Well if I were to write the President a letter it would go something like, "When you meet with the Republicans- - first have your mind made up exactly where you want to lead us as a nation. People shy away from a doubtful leader. If you really don't think the health care bill can be passed, state so plainly to the American people. And at the same time say what course you DO plan to pursue. The American people need to be assured their president is not a flake, and Mr. Obama, lately you have been acting like a flake". It was a conservative reacently I heard voice the oppinion that the President was a shallow man lacking in real convictions, and that his words just wern't believable. I continue to be amazed why the President has been and is turning his back on the very people who voted for him. OK he doesn't have 68 senators in his own party like I heard Johnson had in 1965. This tells me that our work as democrats is not done untill we do get a veto proof congress. This is a goal to shoot for and it is doable if we believe. Faint heart never won an election. When you read about political leaders in the past and see films on their lives in school, one thing you notice is that they wern' cowards. In World War II there was talk of what to do if the Japanese invaded Austrailia. But it was decided we would not let them get that far, and so picked a battle with them while they were still in New Guinea. We took the conflict to them. We have to put the Republicans on the defencive. We need a war strategy to hone our campaign points. What the democrats should be doing this week and next is take the time - not to go off to see their mistress in Argentina - - but to spend this time in planning and strategy ready to hit the ground running when Congress next meets. This means find a way to "get it done" and then DO IT. Be proactive. I wish Carley Manning had been packing heat the last time she met up with Vivian Alamaine. How satisfying it would be to blow her brains out right there in the Kiriacus mansion in front of Victor. The democrats need to get the health bill through with "reconciliation" or whatever you call it, with a vote of only better than 51%. If need be adopt rules that limit the proposal of amendments, lest Republicans get any ideas. They have the power to make the rules do use it. Clearly label the Republicans as the obstructionist party. Identify the Republicans as the source of all of the problems we are having in government these days. Do NOT worry about public opinion. They'll whine if the bill passes but will whine just as loudly if the democrats don't do anything. Whining is all the Republicans know how to do. Haven't you figured that out? As it is said, "Victory has a hundred fathers; defeat is an orphan". Nobody never needed to provide an explanation for winning. If the democrats act like winners, they just might turn into winners.

The Physical Anatomy of Heaven

OK I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen today. I'm like Sarah Palin except that I don't even have notes written on my hands. I'd like to give you some "Cliff Notes" about Heaven, and you're lucky to get that because other people won't even give you that. You look at sites on metaphysics and have to rely pretty much on your imaginations to get anything out of them. First of all I would like to comment on this idea of a "Life changing incident" or life changing decision that people make in their lives. Things like that do happen. But you cannot will them to happen. So when Jesus on KFI virtually orders you to "make a decision" he is cheapening the whole process. Because such life changing moments are precious and if they could be manufactured in mass the way Jesus suggests, it would vastly cheapen their value. I would hope not only that perhaps somebody reading this blog would have a "life changing moment" but it's just possible that someone out there reading this may have an experiance that surpasses my own. First of all we have to know what we are talking about when we throw words around like Heaven and "God". I was in a philosophy class in the fall of 1976 and the teacher seemed bent on proving that an after life was not even philosophically possible. He said that in order to have an after-life experiance you had to have "contenuity of memories" and you could not do that if you no longer had your old brain cells. I tried to pitch the idea to him that you could well be conscious after you died, but have absolutely no memory of your past life or who you were or what you did. We must think of all possabilities. The next thing is determining where heaven is and what it is. Some would say that heaven is "outside of Time". They get this passage saying we are "at the end of time" or "the end times" by misreading a passage in the book of revelation where it says "and the angel said that there should be time no more". But I've heard a more likely word there is "delay- - no more". That makes much more sense in context. Does it matter to you whether or not there is time in heaven? Next we come to where heaven is. Here there are a number of possabilities. Billy Graham teaches there is a whole Spiritual realm right here co-existant with our own space only invisable, and that a freight train could be roaring right through the auditorium and we'd never know it. On StarTrek there is this thing they call "sub space". It's supposed to have a lot of mysterious properties based on sub atomic particles where space is not defined clearly, as some see it. Then there is my Excel dimensions model. In my Excel model I say that a one dimensional universe has zero sides to a ninety degree cube. A two dimensional universe has one. (not two but one. That's because this pancake is not three dimensional) In three dimensions cubes have six faces. In four dimensions there would be eighteen faces. In five the number would be forty and with six there would be 75. This formula, like the whole Sudoku puzzle, is based on "the best evidence available". To put this notion in plain English it would mean that all of the dimensions are co equal but that we only see three of them, and not six, or how many others. Another view of Heaven is that it is somewhere off in the "Outer Darkness" outside this spherically shaped Universe. In some versions of this view, time itself, as well as space runs in circles and starts over again. I do not subscribe to this view myself since time is not a "co equal dimension". Let me demonstrate why. As you know I subscribe to the Ether theory, which can be viewed sort of like motor oil. It varies in viscosity or thickness. (resistance to movement) If it is either too thick things don't work, and if it gets too thinned out the whole Universe breaks down. As such My universe has a beginning and a definite End. As such there is no provision for circular time. As you know from numerous postings several months ago, I subscribe to the hyper-space view of Heaven, which means that "if there were space and you could locate it- -matter would register as traveling faster than light". But I also teach that in hyperspace there is no space as we know it, and so distance is irrelivant. Also the I Ching refers to two kinds of subatance. There is the light, or strong or unyielding substance. Then there is the dark, or weak or yielding substance. And I teach that Heaven is made of a whole different class of "substances" from anything we have the ability to examine in this world. As such my view of Heaven is a "Religious" one because part of the definition of a Religion is that you allude to things that are unprovable. In another philosophy class (I'd told this story before) I once wrote in a term paper that Confucionism was a philosophy and not a Religion, but that Communism was a Religion. Religion as such contains dogma that overrides all other observations on mankind. This is what Communism does. It's not merely a set of moral guideposts on ways to live life, but a hard and fast system of "theology" if you will. Like these other blogs you may read I say that Heaven is made up of- - not "energy" but "intelligent forces" and also of information or ideas per se. Some people say this realm of "energy" travels at the speed of light. But we can see things that travel the speed of light. But once you go one MPH over the speed limit or light barrier, you are OUT of this physical Universe and there is no place for you here, either spacially, or mass wise or time wise. Then the question arises whether heaven is a place of Goodness or not. You may not like my answer. Heaven is a place of Power. But have you ever wondered why people fear Space Aliens? Why are we always afraid of an "Invasion"? Because inwardly we know, like the aberiginal Indians of the Americas, we suspect that the alien's morality may differ considerably from our own, and that we will have no means to fight them, either ethically or appealing to "Higher moral principles". You have heard it said "He with the Power makes the Rules". In the writings of myself and Mark Campbell and Bill Gunderson, we speak of aliens constantly warring with each other. The idea that heaven is somehow a peaceful or tranqual place, may be a highly misplaced notion.

My apologies if you already knew all that stuff. We now move on to the present whacky political landscape. The tea baggers had their first political convention in Nashville over the weekend and Sarah Palin gave that rather trite but vapid speech, devoid of any programs someone could actually adopt. This one term governor drop out wants to be President now. If all she is capable of doing is throwing red meat to the masses in the form of these pre scripted one-liners, she will have a rude awakening. Ten years ago who in their wildest fantasy would have imagined someone like Sarah Palin being the best political mind the right wing has to offer? She certainly wasn't worth the $100,000 fee she charged for showing up. Ten years ago nobody could have even imagined the situation we have today. And if someone wrote a Novel about it, people would be saying it was just too far out to be plausable. I've talked to these people. They have no concept at all that taxes just might be a good thing. They are saying things like "I am so taxed in my business because the government is raising taxes on me all the time and people just aren't going to put up with it". But in reality taxes were cut in 1964 and they were cut again in 1981 and they were cut again- twice- under George Bush. But they are never satisfied and imagine things that aren't so. One of them told me "You know I would like to hire on an employee but the government has so much red tape I just can't do it". When I said to her "Well, Obama wants to give you a five thousand dollar credit for new hires" and she then said "Yeah but some people are so broke they can't afford to hire anyhow so this provision does them no good". You've heard people say "It doesn't matter that Obama cut taxes on 90% of the people- - because everybody knows only rich people pay taxes". Sometimes the right is contradictory. They will say anything to win an argument even if it's inconsistant. Larry Elder says "You know don't you that businesses don't pay any taxes. They just pass it on in higher prices". My response here is, if this if true- - then you won't mind a 30% tax hike because 30% of nothing is nothing. Some of them will say "Well Obama is ignoring the need for jobs". But I calked to a conservative about this whole bullet train thing and she said "I think the idea of a bullet train from LA to San Francisco is stupid. Nobody rides the train. And besides we can't afford it". To this same person I mentioned imposing terrifs to keep American jobs from going overseas. Her response was "Well, a terrif is still a tax by another name". These people want to "Cut taxes to unleash the power of the American economic engine". I'd like to know what that means. Because some people say "Well we have to cut unemployment because as long as they draw unemployment they will never look for a job". But my response is, "How can people who are not making it in this economy have discretionary money to go out and Buy Anything? Broke people can't stimulate an economy. Back to the train thing I said we could bypass a lot of airport security checks. Because you can't hijack a railroad. If there is a terrorist discovered on board, a train can be evacuated. A plane can't be. You can't crash a train into a skyscraper. She was unimpressed. But what about new forms of energy. She said "Well you know that solar pannels don't work and if you bought one now, it will not have paid for itself even if you were to keep it for fifty years. She also said "wind and tide power could never generate the energy we need. Of course Sarah Palin talked about President Obama acting like a "law professor" in dealing with terrorists. It's their side who is uneducated and doesn't read. Tancredo should have been looking in a mirror when he said people voting for Obama could not pass a southern voter litericy text. In terms of these terror suspects tried in criminal court- - President Obama is just following the precedents set by the Bush administration in dealing with trying terrorists. These people on the right just need something to complain about. They need a slogan of the week. And I say for these tea baggers to go ahead and run in Republican primaries. Do it. That way the "real Republicans" will put them in their place. And both of them will be put in their place when the Democratic candidate wins in the fall because the Republicans are all factionalized. But if this is what Sarah Palin wants, I say "Go for it".

Out To Lunch

A right wing friend of mine had a Glen Beck video for me. It was more of what Glen Beck has been talking about. And that is that there is a socialist conspiracy to wreck the US economy deliberately. In this video the national debt is inflated to ten times its real size and the personal debt of every human being in the country is pegged at over a hundred thousand. There were images of hyper inflation and what happened with Argentina and the Wymar Republic of Germany. And of course after the economy has been wrecked with hyper inflation, then a totalitarian government has to be brought in with standing armies on US soil to managed the panicked and out of control masses. It's right out of something Jim Jones might have shown, except the other extreme. These people really are "Out to Lunch". Glen Beck says he has an explanation for why there is absolutely no indemic inflation now and yet it's going to by his own "calculations" have to be at least 180% before we're all done, if not worse- - this is because "The banks are holding the money but there is no Velocity to the money. And once someone "throws the Master Switch" and the currency is turned on, then we'll see this all happen. Apparently 33% of Republicans believe that President Obama is a racist, and 63% believe that he is a socialist, and that his health care plan is Maoist, Stalinist, Statist, and whatever other word they can come up with. Randy Rhodes believes that republicans actually in the corodors of government don't believe this clap trap themselves, but they feed this propaganda to the masses because they believe they are so stupid they won't investigate any of the alligations but accept the premise whole. There are those Joe the Plumber types out there who are neither plumbers nor earn %250,000 a year, that are concerned they may be the ones to strike it big but when they do the government will conthiscate their money to the tune of eighty percent, another figure that was thrown around. The idea from people I've talked to is that the government is "stealing" from tallented, inovative people out there and killing their work ethic. Of course I thought I heard some republicans say that Obama shouldn't be cutting the sixteen percent of government that he's actually cutting because "there are a lot of good programs in there". Yeah, there is all that pork. Personally I'm open to throwing the other 84% of expenditures open for cutting, and we can start with defense. People forget that all through the Bush years that defense spending was "off budget" and now that we have honest accounting under President Obama, people are upset about how much it all costs.

Of course Republicans even if they agree with you will change their minds if Obama comes out in favor of what they are proposing. For a while under President Clinton we had "pay as you go" meaning if you proposed a program you had to come up with a way to pay for it. But that kind of thinking is out the window now that a democrat is in office. President Obama also he said that he favored a "deficet reduction comission" or whatever to look into causes for the national deficet. But now that the President is for their plan, the Republicans who sponsored the bill to begin with it are now voting against it. John Mc Cain is well known for his reversals in his headlong lurch to the political right. He used to favor extending Medi-Care to those over 55 but now he is against that. (Or was that Joe Lieberman?) They're both so alike it's hard to tell them apart these days. And John Mc Cain said if the top brass of the military came to him and said they were for abolishing "Don't Ask; Don't Tell" that Mc Cain would be all for it then. But now that all of the top officials of departments did just that before congress yesterday, Mc Cain is backing off of his word with the lamest of excuses that "But they never gave congress a chance to express their oppinion", as if Mc Cain was suddenly a lover of the vote of this congress. "Don't Ask; Don't Tell" has got to go because there are too many honorable men of the gay perswasion who have served and died valiently in the military. They shouldn't be stripped of their pension or their honorable discharge put in Jeopardy because they either volentarily or involentarily "come out" and stand up and be counted as among the ranks of the gay population.

Sometimes I think I'd like to recycle stuff I wrote from the second half of the 'nineties for you people. The trouble is first there are certain formatting glitches, but next, I don't think the issues that were important to me then are particularly relavant now to you people. Also on occasion I have dipped into the past either earlier in this decade or in the nineties, when and where I thought I had something relivant to say. Some people's words have a long shelf life and you can dredge their writings up years later and the words are still relavant. Mine are also - in some areas- - but just not in the areas you people would probably be interested in.

The media seems to be getting friendlier to the military. Sixty Minutes was allowed to embed themselves with Green Berets in Afghanistan. So there are a lot of friendly fire shooting incidents. What else is new? The whole idea is to "sell" the idea of continued armed conflict to the people. Now there is some upset over the fact that the US Military is recruiting young freshmen in high school as young as fourteen. There is talk of "mining for youth" and "planting seeds" and "harvesting". Of course you remember that Simpson's episode where they tried to appeal to the most wasted thirteen and fourteen year olds they could find and even they were to smart to fall for their lines. They said, "OK, we'll have to go younger" and you know the movie they showed in grammar school about War being one big glorified Video Game. Hopefully we aren't starting to think along the lines of Communist China where women are encouraged to have more boys because they can be turned into fighting machines. That all of this is happening in the Obama administration I find troubling. Now we are told that it is a virtual certainty that the US will suffer a terrorist attack on our soil within three to six months. I don't know how many more similarities between our country and a fascist state we need to see before the alarm bells go off. I've read the Koran. I was just reviewing it last weekend. And the similarities between it and the Bible are stunning. Clearly whoever wrote the Koran was very familiar with the Bible in the ways the "mind set" of Jehova, or Allah, are presented. Clearly mercy and redemption are taught, even though from the Media you'd think they were all Calvinist or something and believed nobody could change. Perhaps we should make the Koran required reading in schools.

The basic problem of today is that the republicans have been out of power now for over a year but act if they are still running the place. They have appointed themselves supreme moral arbitors of everything that happens in government. Never have I seen the office of President of the United States held up to disrespect and ridicule more than I have with these republicans. Whatever happened to such things as nationalism and patriotism? They don't care about America when it comes to economic regulations - that's for sure. Why can't they be what they always claim to want and that is be bipartizan and work with this President to get needed measures passed? As Dylan says, "Your old road is rappidly fading. Get out of the new one if you can't lend a hand- - ". History will not be kind to this generation of republicans. They are the last gasp of a crop we thought was going extinct a hundred years ago. And out of their own mouths they say that we have had "a hundred years of liberalism". But in point of fact, though the last time the Republicans had what what the democrats just gave up - a sixty vote majority in the US Senate - - it was 1923 and the Republicans have passed a lot of measures and caused an awful lot of obstruction since them. Don't they ever tire of seeing themselves as the party that has to be led into the future kicking and screaming? This whole gay thing with the military is clearly an idea whose time has arrived. And health care is something every other civilized country in the world already has. In many countries in the world, a private for profit insurer of basic health needs would be seen as a criminal act, and they would be thrown in jail. We spend more on health care than the rest of the world and get less for it. And it's these rising health costs that are going to bankrupt medi-care in the years to come. But now I forget - - are the Republicans for medi-care or against it? There are times in the past I've thought the democrats were being negative. But I fail to see a message of "Why it can't be done" or "Why America is destined to fail" - - can ever win at the ballot box. My hunch is that the republicans are going to have a nasty surprise some the day after the November elections, just like they had in 1998. They were counting heavily on winning that year so they could vote Clinton out of office, but one look at the poll results and they had to abandon their well laid plans. I don't think a lot of the American people know what they want. And Randy Rhodes is right. They are incapable of critical thinking. Once they are educated they'll make more enlightened decisions.

Pardon the Intrusion of Reality

"I hope you people like long, rambling paragraphs"

I would now like to meditate on this statement made on the Randy Rhodes show today quoting Franklin Roosevelt saying “Necessitous men are not free”. This statement may not be true “Per Se”, but is can be MADE to be true by environment. For instance, Christians are to live by the 23rd Psalm saying “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want (or need) You’ve heard it- “God” is all any Christian should need. But you can’t real “relax” in this statement knowing what a farsical lie that it is. Such as when dealing with Christians they will attack you if you are needy, and they will also attack you if you’re too independent. And if you ARE needy, they will not see it as an occasion for them to “practice compassion” but rather somehow ever so delicately or not so delicately in some occasions, to say “Well, a Normal person would not be so needy”. Or they will say “Because you are needy there is something Wrong with you that Jesus can’t fix that was caused somewhere back in your childhood someplace”. They use this “in the past” or “in your childhood” line to throw all of their red hering accusations. But of course you remember that Dr. Levy said last Friday in class that he didn’t trust Obama and said to me that “You know this recession is not over”, when I said that the President took steps to save millions of jobs. Will Dr. Levy now retract his statement after hearing we were up at an annualized rate of over five percent last quarter? I don’t think so. The Republicans need this recession and need it bad to get re-elected this fall. They have to play the fear card wherever they can. They play it with small businessmen who according to the Randy Rhodes show today are getting all these new tax breaks. But they won’t admit that President Obama wants to cut taxes. It’s against their religion to admit for a minute that anything their enemy says might be right. Of course Christians and others like to play games. For instance, as I have said before, it’s the very person who says “I am not a legalist” that you have to watch out for. Also remember when Marcus Blackwell would say “I am a tolerant and open person and I welcome a frank discussion of opinions”. That’s actually the last thing Marcus wanted, as I found out. There are few people harder to share a contrary opinion with than Marcus. Dr. Levy plays much the same game saying “I only choose to have friends who are open and honiest and whom you can trust”. But certain people, like myself, are not autonomus creatures who can pick and choose with whom to associate with. How high does Dr. Levy come in on the trust department? He’s always misquoting people and blaiming the other person for the quote. He does this routine all the time. When does continually joking about something begin to wear a little thin. He went after Michael Deletore for saying he had a masters degree in political science, saying in that joking, if combative tone, “Do you think you are smarter than me, huh?” And what’s with the shoes. He paces around the room acting like he’s going to step on everybody’s shoes and sometimes does. And the whole bit of reaching for Richard’s hat has to be getting really old. So today he gave us that page on Democracy verses Communism. I’m not sure what the deal was with that but the Republicans love to make everything bi-polar. They will start by saying, “There are many forms of government in the world”, and in the end will be saying, “There are only two forms of government in the world- - ours and theirs. Ours is good and theirs is bad.” Dr. Levy is still buying in to the whole “Death panel and doctor rationing thing”. People play games in a lot of ways. Like you know when people say “Where are you going in such a hurry, give me a thousand word explanation right now!” But if you’re really in a hurry a normal person would say, “I don’t want to detain them at this time”, and let it go at that. I left the class at one to watch Days Of Our Lives. Of course then Bo Brady got sermonizing from his mother on personal morality, because Bo was entertaining a woman in the house who was not his wife and his little girl saw her, as if that were somehow the end of the world. Pardon the intrusion of reality but it was Hope who left the house and moved to the residence of Bo’s arch enemy, Victor. Somehow Caroline forgot that little detail. Of course people like Caroline Brady and Dr. Laura have absolutely no business moralizing about people considering their own pasts, anyhow. Have you noticed that conservatives lie a lot more than liberals? Some of their lies are really blatent, too. Of course another type of game is “I’m doing this for your own good” game. Like when Mia comes over to Chad’s father’s DA office and tells the whopper that she and Chad will be going to Vancouver for the Olympics. How demented does Mia have to be to think this whopper will get her closer to Chad. Sure it caused Chad’s father to cancel the whole Vancouver trip that Chad was taking with Gabriel- - and that other couple. OK she scuttled that union before it happened. But does she think for one moment that Chad won’t despise her when and if he finds out what she did, knowing how Chad’s father feels about her (Mia). Nobody likes people who butt in to relations that are none of their business. Kate has done this with Lucas’ life. Of course people on the right love to weigh in with opinions on things they aren’t qualified to pass judgement on, like where the 9 – 11 terrorist will be tried. How much hysteria have you heard about how nobody in New York wants the trial there and the security worries and should we have grilled him longer to get more information out of him? Wouldn’t a little water-boarding of the suspect have been advisable? Even though the Rush administration tried hundreds of terrorist suspects in the Criminal Courts, and got a good number of convictions that way. But as Stewart reminds me (remember Stewart?) - - any Islamic terrorist would love to be tried as a war enemy combatant, because that is how they see their struggle. They do not see it as a criminal act against innocent people. People lie about motives. They say they are worried about “security” when really it’s unauthorized secrets coming out that bothers them. And perhaps that’s OK. I guess we’re entitled to “official State secrets”, but why don’t they just come out with it and admit that this is the Government’s motivation.

. President Obama has backed down under pressure and that terrorist will not be tried in New York City. This will provide a propaganda boost for the Islamic terrorists because this is their fondest dream, to have one of their own operatives tried by a military tribunal. I look forward to tomorrow’s commentary on KTLK on this. Personally, I just wish President Obama would draw a line in the sand for once and stick to a principle. [name withheld] was by with medication and we had chocolate chip cookies.

CBS is running what most likely is a false anti abortion add about a mother who was going to abort a fetus that turned out to be a star football player. The only thing is she was living in the Philipines at the time where abortion was illegal. So if the doctor actually had recommended abortion, he could go to jail. At the same time CBS still won’t run a pro gay add. Not that I am recommending they do that.

Speaking of gays, it seems Scott Brown has a pro gay streak in him because he says permitting for forbidding gay marriage is a “state’s rights” position. That’ my position but it runs contrary to the right’s platform. That makes me want to do a big “Nya- -Nya- - “ to people like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. You've heard the expression "What you see is what you get". Well now, the right has "gotten it"! This is opposed to that other expression "What you want is what you get".

Living Up To Your Words

"I Hear the Voices - - "
-George W Bush

"My greatest fear as a Christian was not
that one day my life would come to an end
but rather that my life would
Never Have A Beginning"

My acquaintance with certain spirit guides
actually precedes my acquaintance with Christianity
So I can't be accused of a spiritual "Carley Manning"
or adopting an Alternate Belief System to Christianity
once I deduced that all HOPE was Gone

Before we begin tonight's feature presentation on our esteemed President's State of the Intercourse message last night, I would first like to talk about a period in my life I made the mistake of sharing with Pastor Don 25 years ago. I have a feeling he was thinking things about me that were never said out loud, at least to me. It's probably significant that I met my first spirit guides not while living at my parent's address but "On the road to San Barnadino" to quote a lyric. There happened to be three of them but the number was not at all significant, and by the way for you B O C fans, they were not dressed in black and they didn't say "Don't Report This". "He said one - and one - and one - is three" (That line is more relevant but for a different reason) The period from September first 1954 to April 3rd. 1955 is a period which, if I were my parents I wouldn't feel comfortable talking about, besides if they said anything it would probably not be accurate. When I was little I would have these dreams where this white incandescent sphere would be floating past me and it would frighten me, and contrary to what Sylvia Brown says, I don't think it was an angel". I'll take it up with her some day.

Well yesterday morning I made certain statements. Many of them were prompted by a “spirit guide” if you will, I refer to by the initials of F H. He said that Obama would be in full scale retreat and do everything he could to impress the republicans to keep the status quo and that security and restrictions of civil rights further would be trumpeted and that he would announce that he wanted to scrap most of the health bill in the spirit of compromise. None of that happened. Instead I was impressed with the way the President stepped up to the plate. He said all the right words, and now it’s incumbent on him to walk by them. The speech didn’t begin real promacing since there was rhetoric about “I feel your pain” and letters from children and “we all have concerns” and “America is still number one” and other puffery that could just have easily been given by a Republican. But then he got into the nuts and bolts of our pressing problems. The speech began at 6:12 and ended at 7:22 making the speech an hour and ten minutes – definitely one of the longer speeches. He told congress on the health bill, “Just get it done”. He threatened to veto any bill that contained pork barrel projects and said all such pork should be plainly posted on the internet. He said the money saved would make up for the money spent this year on the recovery. He outlined everything Bush did that got us to this point. But he said the freeze in spending would not begin till 2011 “when the recovery was stronger”. That makes sense. He said to put an end to the partisan bickering and “Just because the republicans have the power to do something (like stop government) doesn’t mean they should do it. He promised to rewrite the tax laws so that it would not be adventagious for corporations to relocate off shore. He chided the media for their endless sound bites and encouraging the division to get ratings. He criticized the Supreme Court decision of last week and urged congress to pass laws barring foreign corporations from funding U S campaigns. He took on the lobbyists. He said no lobbyist was getting any government post. He said most of the TARP money had been paid back but with the remaining money it should be used to generate small business loans. I did not hear anything specific about restoring Glass – Steigel. He spoke of how all of this would not be easy but hard but this was one of those moments in US history that demanded decisiveness and bold action. He also coined a term, at last for the past decade, which is now coming to be called “The Lost Decade”. In my life there are times when I think of it as the Lost Decade. I would sure rather be 49 than 59 given the choice. The President spoke of winding down the war in Iraq and mentioned North Korea and promised to get tough with Iran if the situation demanded. He said we should put away talk of “which party is tougher on terrorism than whom”. Then he mentioned civil rights around the world raising examples such as women in Afghanistan trying to get an education. He also talked about how American youth needs a first rate education if they are going to get first rate jobs and has a new government program for that. He also talked about the need for new domestic energy in ways that impressed me such as “Drill, baby, drill”. He spoke of clean coal and of revitalizing our nuclear plants, and new green jobs. Finally he did what I never thought he had the cajones to say. He said that “Don’t ask; don’t tell” must end and gay people deserve equal rights. He only spend about ten minutes on foreign policy, understandably, given these trying times. Nobody can accuse the President of being timid in this speech. Well, like I say, he’s said all the right words, and that is an important first step. He realizes what he has to do; now it’s time for us to do it.

Apple today introduced their “I Pad”. That name is so obvious I’m surprised I didn’t predict it ahead of time. The I Pad will do for E books what the I Pod did for music. Well, at least we’ll save a few trees – I think. Many say they won’t buy now however because they’ll just come out with a better, cheaper one this summer. The screen is a touch screen - - but it’s big enough to watch HD movies on and do other things. I’m a little surprised that apple didn’t yank the rug out today because lately people have been “set up” to expect a new thing from apple that they didn’t deliver.

You know - - I think America in some ways is more demanding of the television media today. They’ve done some things right. You have more avenues than ever to generate feedback on what you like and don’t like. The renaissance of the game show I think is a healthy sign. Competetion is always healthy and generates character. The rise of the reality show is also healthy. People have been saying for decades that TV was divorced from real life, but now real life has come to TV in a major way. More than ever news is covering things like health issues, that makes the public more informed. There is a awful lot of Entertainment gossip type stuff on, but at least when you have conversation at cocktail parties - - even the un hip won’t come off as a blithering idiot.

I thought of adding “Oh My Love” and “New York City” to the John Lennon compilation. The reason why I am not is because people from the Federation were saying, “John already has more albums dedicated to him than the other Beatles, and these fifteen songs cover the period well enough already without overdoing it”. Besides John Lennon himself says he has soured on “New York City”.

President Obama announced High Speed Rail transport for transportation and employment. I think that’s a pretty good idea. But I didn’t hear any specific proposal in tonight’s speech. But if it’s actually on the table, let’s just hope the Republicans like it.

Now Oregon wants an initiative to organize a state bank to serve the people.

I bookmarked ABC’s “Good Morning America” the other night for Videos.

The other day I changed a sentence to read “Judas had to think fast” in the “anointed” file, or rather, the blog that was lifted from that file -and hopefully my adding in a sentence will make it easier to follow. Yes, it is just a “story”, but one worth telling. This is information that readers of the Karmic suicide blog will want to know.
