OK kiddies it’s time
for a little democraphic realities.
People say that if you’re a communist you lie to the people but the
people are ALWAYS worse off than before the leader showed up on the scene. This is what Rush Limbaugh alledged about
Hugo Chavez today. But the truth is that
Hugo Chavez cut the infant mortality rate in half- - and he made health care a
lot more available and furthered higher education. Also keep in mind that Hugh Chavez was the
winner in a free election held in 1998 and that George Bush staged an attempted
military coup in that country that was successful for a week or two. But then the people rose up as one in
rebellion and put Chavez back into power.
But naturally if you’re Hugh Chavez you’re not going to think too kindly
of the foreign leader (Bush) who attempted to oust you in a corporate coup
organized by Bush’s buddies and business partners in the region. Also Hugo Chavez according to one source,
gave Venesuela a Constitution for the first time and that Constitution granted
people various rights they had never enjoyed before. Also Chavez allowed the people at large to
own their own property and residence, and even to borrow against it, should
they choose. For the first time they had
equity or that nasty word “Capital”. But
you will hear none of this from FOX and company. Rush Limbaugh isn’t even original in his
terms. He has now taken to use our term
of the “low information voter”. But now
we have moved on to using the more toxic term of “dis-information voter”. FOX news is not only meant to mis-inform but
to dis-inform. But we in this country
rather than improving in our demographics are moving in the other direction. Our infant mortality rate is rising. There is this CRE bacteria that is found in
hospitals and wholly 44% percent of the patients who interned in one Florida
hospital came down with it. Eighteen
percent of the elderly in long term nursing care contract the CRE bacteria and
fully fifty percent of those who encounter the CRE bacteria, do not survive
it. This in large part is due to the
fact that many people enter hospitals because they are not that healthy to
begin with. The prominent of this
vaccine resistant CRE bacteria is up four fold since 2003. And we are hearing that if you are not on
medicare but pay by private insurance- they will jack up the price ten to
twelve fold, I kid you not. This to me presents a very powerful argument
for a single payer health plan of some sort.
If you had younger patients in the insurance pool- - you could charge a
lot lower rates than with medicare. I’m
just saying- - IF, not that we should.
Of course people like Judy say that these high paid Chief Executive
Officers earn every penny of their pay through long hours. Judy goes on, “I can tell you they do from
personal experience”. Gee, I didn’t know
that Judy was conceiling a fortune of several hundred million dollars I didn’t
know about!” My motto is “Nobody is
worth that kind of money”. And
personally if it was me- - - I’d fire them and take my chances, and use that
money I’d pay them to help people that deserve it. As Randy Rhodes says “Everyone has their hand
in the tell collecting their little slice of the pie” or as John Lennon might
put it, “Everyone has their hands in the Kill” since you’re more likely to end
up Dead AFTER visiting a hospital than before.
I’ll have a little more to say on my posting.
This morning I listened
to Ed Schultz on that Monterey station.
But I noticed both at the ten o clock hour and at eleven, they X’d out
the CBS news and instead piped in low fidelity filler music. I’m not sure why they now don’t want us to
hear the hourly CBS news. Maybe they’re
afraid we’ll learn something. Ed Schultz kept talking about "not compromizing", but "talking tough" around your friends is not the same as a face off with the Republicans, who have been de facto running this country for the past two years. O Riley “lost it” on
FOX news last night in a shouting match with Allan Combs. Schultz points out that he “gave away” 1.2
Trillion in cuts mid summer of 2011 in a deal where John Boehner claimed “I got
98% of what I wanted”. Of course the President said he’d used a
rigged CPI index- - to refigure social security increases at even a more chincy
rate- - and he also offered to mean test medicare payments and also move to
“outcome based medicine” where you move away from the very expensive “free per
service” rate paymentand even raise the
ellegability age. And of course the President points out that Billions can be saved by we who are covered being ellagable to negotiate with the drug copanies for the best prices.
I went and
bought a cigarette lighter that hardly works at all. But when I went to return it to exchange it
for one that actually works, I was refused.
I was personally offended by this.
I have never returned anything at that store before and I’ve been
sending an awful lot of business their way in the past week. But all I got was first a denial that the guy
even sold it to me, then he denied that the lighter didn’t work, when it
clearly wasn’t working even when he tried it.
And I’ve thrashed my thumb more on this lighter than I wrecked it on the
old lighter before it ran out of fluid.
Clearly this one was full of fluid.
We had hamburgers for lunch and potato chips. The new guy gave me his tomato slice. We had honeydew for desert. The pasta soup- - a holdover from Strogenoff
night- - was good and it was the only thing that came around for seconds, and
she still had some when she got to us.
The soap opera is
getting to the point where watching it only gets depressing. Now Samantha’s orgiastic excitement is
heightened by fanticies of mafia hits and people being tortured and killed and
begging in vain for their lives, I suppose.
Clowie has decided to move on apparently from Daniel and now is attempting
to seduce Father Eric, a move Nicole doesn’t find funny. And by the way, if you’re going to abandon
your flock to chase after some hardened criminal in prison who isn’t afraid of
killing again, and intervene to let him out early- - shouldn’t the responsibility
for any lives he takes after he’s gotten out fall on you, too? Listen to Nicole. Stop judging her and start listening- - you
know – two ears – one mouth - - and all that.
As sleazy as Clowie is, she’s never killed anybody. Samantha has shot two men and was framed for
shooting another- - and she “honestly didn’t remember whether she did it or not”. By the way if Sonny tries using that bigot word
around me don’t be surprised if I punch him in the mouth. When I want to protect my kids from sexual
perverts and I’m called Names for trying to do so- that’s pushing it too
far. I didn’t take kindly to David
Cruise’s remarks dissing Eric Garsetti using terms I would have expect to hear
out of Rush Limbaugh’s mouth. When he
stoops to using cheap stereotypical racial slurs- - that make no sense to begin
with- - and that’s the best he came up with - - I say, “Enough”. The thing is if you going to pile sarcasm
thicker than icing on a wedding cake- - at least get through the first minute
where you are explaining the background for us.
And by the way- - just as with Gene Scott and Rush Limbaugh- - when you’re
obviously so hyper I think you’ve been popping pills and interrupt yourself in
mid sentence because you are now ceased by a sudden, new tangential thought- -
I don’t even have any respect for you as a public speaker. People get to elevated high position and
think they can abandon standards.
We had oven fried
chicken with some sort of flour coating on it.
I got one piece for the first plate, and generous yams, and peas and
carrots. We ate the apple sauce first
because we were hungry. Dora made it
around the room with seconds and I got the rare treat of “end of the line
balloon payment seconds”. Dora gave me
about three pieces because she had a few left over. I was grateful. A lot of the servers are nice that way
including Dora, Laura, and Sarah, and sometimes Denise. Sometimes zoo animals go vicious and attack,
and you’re not sure what provoked it, but as of now animals don’t have the
right to Due Process or to speak in their own defense. Here is a cleaver line for you. Christians say that what makes them such
wonderful people is that they engage in Self Denial. I say that the problem with Christians is
Exactly - - because they engage in continued Self Denial. The art of “denial of the obvious” is one of
the first things you have to instinctively learn when you become a
Christian. They say “Monkey see – monkey
do” and just as abandoned apes have to be “taught by humans, so I’m told, how
to act as Apes- - so Christians are “taught” and “learn by seeing” literally from
birth. (Selah)
